It is pretty cool but why are they not wearing any eye protection?

The timing of the explosions were brilliantly done.

If only all M83 songs were that epic...

Eye protection's not cool, man. Damaged vision, though - makes the chickie-babes come a-running.

They're professional skateboarders, they don't wear protection of any sort haha

Not even a stunt man would dream of doing half the stuff they are capable of doing.

That song fits so perfect eh?

Being "Pro" will not stop a shard from permanently damaging their eyes.

Those stunts were far from the typical skateboard tricks.

Why don't they wear knee pads? And elbow pads?

Because they don't need/want to. They do far worse things than in that video. :P

There was one segment that was edited to end right after the "pro" got knocked off his board and apparently got a face full of explosion and debris . The aftermath was not shown.

In addition to the physical dangers, I wonder if they gave any thought to Homeland Security and the BATF watching their video? While some of the "explosions" appeared to be compressed air systems, others were clearly something with more punch. Homeland Security doesn't ignore events that use even small amounts of explosives these days.

This is a professional skateboarding video called 'Fully Flared' by Lakai footwear. It was filmed by a professional team and edited by one and they would of had to of had consent to use the explosives. Also note that the debris is mainly styrofoam ( spelling? ) and I am assuming balsa wood. It has changed skateboard videos for ever, this IS the benchmark.

It would of had to of been rated and viewed by who ever does this in the United States.

The professional skaters in the video are classed as just that: professionals.

SORRRRY.

I just have a hard time wrapping my mind around 'professional' skateboarder.

While I realize anyone who gets paid for doing something is technically a professional (no matter how little or disturbingly much money is involved) that doesn't necessarily automatically mean everything they do is by the book. I know of a number of professionals who have done things illegally at one time or another in order to get free publicity.

I had no way of knowing whether they got permits, were monitored, etc or not, so I was just making an observation. Geez.

edit to add-
styrofoam or balsa wood can still permanently blind you
edit to add-
I also happen to think sports figures, singers, movie stars, many CEOs, Presidents and Congressmen are paid WAY too much money and get obscene retirement packages/golden parachutes, and I can't figure out people who would pay hundreds or even thousands of dollars to watch a concert or a sports event

I agree that they get paid way too much, movie stars especially.

As for styrofoam and balsa wood. Better than concrete and hard timber :P

I didn't mean to offend, as you were just being naive, so I apologize John :)
