Dear all,

I had already install ubuntu 804 in my laptop Acer Aspire 5052 (Turion 2,2Ghz, Ati 1100, Ram 2GB, 80GB HDD, Atheros wifi) by wubi. everythis runs normaly except there are no sound come out to my laptop, when I plug headphone to the laptop I heard the sound but when I unplug there are no sound.

Could anybody help me to give me solution please :)

Thanks and Regards,

Linux is terrible with hardware support, especially on laptops (what can you expect for free). I am running Ubuntu on this laptop and I don't have any sound (or wifi) either. I would suggest going to Ubuntu's forums and ask help there. They are very knowledgeable.

Have you checked the sound options?
beacuse if you have sound when you plug an headset that means your soudcard is correctelly detected and installed, otherwise that would not work either.

I have Ubuntu Hardy in my laptop and it works perfectly.
