Hello folks, just some questions I would like to be answered:

- So, what cards can I fit here? nVidia, ATI, what models are there to be used?
- Is it worthy? Because I'm assuming they will be a bit expensive.
- Is there something else I should know about this PCI-Express Expansion slot for notebokes?

Thank you for any incoming info on the subject.

Do you mean the ExpressCard slot? The only video adapters they make for those is TV tuners:

Yes that's what I hate from laptops, the only thing you can upgrade easily (most of the time) is the hard drive and the memory. Some laptops don't even have PCI-EXPRESS x16 if it doesn't have a video card. And it's very rare to find mobile video cards for sale since from what I've read they're specially made only for OEM retailers and are not available in big quantities.

Yesterday I tryed my Visual Studio 2008 .NET project on the laptop which uses ManagedDX and, well, it doesn't compile. It gives me an error when trying to create the Direct3D device...

Am I missing something? The graphic card is a Intel 965 Express Mobile. I have the latest version in it. I can't believe this video card is unable to run my .NET project...

Any thoughts? I have one... this sucks badly!

Ya gotta install the DirectX 9 SDK. I think this is what you need:

Yes, but I already have it installed, otherwise I could not use any DirectX references.

My doubt is, is this a software problem or hardware limitation? Because it this is hardware limitation then I will not loose more time with it.

What specifically is the error? My guess is you will have to change your project to x86.

Integrated 965 graphics should be fully DirectX 9.0c compatible.
