I heard about this today morning. I can't even image what the victims family and friends are going through. Apparently the victim was only 18 years old.

I am never sleeping on a coach bus again.

I am glad I never sleep on public transportation at all...

I can't understand why the attacker wasn't in turn attacked by the other passengers... You would think that of all the people on that bus atleast one or two of them would have stood up for the poor guy being knifed to death.

This is why i hate public transport. And yeah don't sleep on buses. It would be interesting to know what made this guy do such an awful thing.

this is a prime example of why more people need to carry guns.

Oh yeah, that's just what that situation needed. A crazy guy with a knife, a bus driver scared out of his/her mind presumably (and thus driving erratically and/or slamming on the brakes), throwing people around, and you want to throw scared people with guns into the mix? For f**ks sake.

I am sure people on the bus tried to help him but you have to consider the narrow aisles of a coach bus. It would take at least 5-6 people all willing to charge him in order to stop him. The first 2-3 people who charge him could get severely injured. I know I would not want to be one of those 2-3 people.

Let's not start talking about gun control in this largely left-winged forum. All I am going to say is us Americans can carry guns in public so this would have turned out differently if it happened here.

Actually the guy was sleeping so it wouldn't have turned out different. He was dead before he knew it.

Back in April of this year were i live (Ridley Park).A guy went into CVS and attacked the store manager with a box cutter.Then 2 guys that were in the store jumped the guy and got the box cutter away from this nut case.Funny thing was these two guys that didnt know one another jumped in to help and afterwards found out they had the same last names..lol Whats the chances of that happening?The one guy was Council vice-chair named Jack Whelan and the second guy was Gene Whelan.No relations But it goes to show we still have decent people around.

Still sucks how out of 20+ people there, no one bothered to help the guy out. Also, don't even bother with gun control debates, in Canada, we are happy knowing people ARE NOT carrying guns.
