You know I looked for reviews on the performance of those 2 cards and couldn't find anything.

Could the 9800GT overclock better?

9800 GT = G92b
8800 GT = G92

9800 GT is just a revision of the same core. What that means performance wise, I don't know. I doubt it is much.

Edit: 9800 GT is 55nm fab instead of 65nm.

Edit: Edit: I think the fab is the only difference between them. I see no other changes from a hardware standpoint and even the clocks are the same so, the 9800 GT might be a better overclocker but that is the only real advantage.

I think 4850 but the 4850 is probably faster.

"The 9800GT is effectively a rebranded 8800GT, although some are being manufactured using a newer 55nm technology instead of the older 65nm first debuted on the 8800gt" Source: wikipedia ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GeForce_9_Series#GeForce_9800_GT )
I heard 9800GT is 10% better.
(I only registered only to reply you. :) )

Thanks to the 9800gt I can no longer get an evga 8800gt to pair up in an SLI config. The bastards stopped making the 8800gt and I can't pair up a 8800gt with a 9800gt.

Guess the only thing left is to overclock the hell out of my 8800gt until it dies or gets damaged and send it for RMa in hopes of a 9800gt or better card :)

9 series cards support Hybrid SLI, 8 series cards do not. Thats the difference. Performance wise there is no difference.

Core i7 4770K @ 4.4GHz | Corsair H110 | Gigabyte GA-Z87X-UD5H | 32GB 1866MHz Corsair Vengeance
2x EVGA GTX 780 SLI | 256GB OCZ Vector SSD | 4TB Hitachi 7K4000

Meats evga always has tons of refurbished cards. I've had no bad experiences with them. They sell them on their site and Newegg has some as well with a 90 day guarantee

I have read somewhere in other forums that you can SLi the 8800gt and 9800gt together. I heard that its an exact same card just rebranded with 9800gt. Only difference I would think is that the 9800gt have better cooling than the 8800gt. Both sport the G92 GPU.

Here's more info on these two cards. Same exact features, and speed. Here's the Links
