I have a Toshiba Satellite 1955 s803 laptop. When you have it plugged into the ac you see the nomal lights on the front panel. After you press the power on button the laptop starts turning on. Then within a sec or two it stops and all the front panel indicator lights ore on and it will do nothing more.

The guys who gave it to me said a tech told him the motherboard was bad. After doing some reading it could be nohting more than the internal power connector has worked lose.

has anyone here have had the same problem? I'm also looking for a shop manual that will show me how to take it apart to service it.

I have a ~10 y.o. Vaio (GRX-570) and it has a similar "won't turn on" problem that just started about 6 months ago. I've found that if I let it sit for an hour or longer...hold the Alt, Control, Delete keys and then press the power on/off button, it sometimes boots up as usual. Sometimes it fails on the first try, but boots up on an immediate second try. If it doesn't boot up after 2 or 3 tries, it doesn't matter how many times after that I try-it doesn't come to life. Letting it sit for hours and then a retry seems to work I just leave it on all the time with screen saver set for blank. PITA.

Anyone got any suggestions on how to fix? It's not my ram, I replaced and still no help.
