  Toshiba laptop power supply failing
 Date Written

Hello all - I will start by saying I know nothing about these things! I have a Toshiba satellite L20-217 is about 2 years old so probably out of warranty. The battery has always been terrible and since day 1 has not worked for more than 20 minutes, I've always used mains power. perhaps 6 months ago the power adapter started to go wrong, at first i could fiddle with it and get it working but eventually totally died. Now I use one of those adapters that can be used on any model, and it is showing the symptoms the first one did, working about 50% of the time I fear it will totally die like the other one soon. Is this a problem with the laptop or the adapters? Any advice?
thanks a lot. :)

sounds more like an issue with the AC adapters than with the laptop itself.

your universal laptop power supply is dead, you need by a new laptop ac adapter, suggest you buy a replacement toshiba laptop ac adapter for your laptop
I would recommend buying laptop ac adapter from because they offer lifetime warranty and free shipping to all ac adapter at a good price. I think that with the benefits of warranty and shipping, it is definitely worth it to buy ac adapters from them

Hello Friends,

They should be able to run off AC power without a battery. Unfortunately, you're right that this might be indicative of hardware failure.A failed or failing Toshiba L300 laptop's power adapter can result in charging and power problems. Although the power adapter is usually the source of power issues, in some cases, a separate issue such as mal ware infection or outdated BIOS files can result in improper use of the AC adapter, requiring file updates and scans to correct the problem. Troubleshoot the adapter thoroughly to verify that it truly is the problem before replacing it.Normally the DC-DC converter or power board controls the charge circuit in notebooks. This will control the distribution of power.

Thanks And Regards.
