i got this brand new in jan. lately the cooling fan is just getting way to freakin loud. I cant stand it anymore. it doesnt sound like theres anything wrong, it just sounds like is spinning too fast. the only things i've added is a geforce 2 mx 400 pci and an extra stick of 512 Crucial DDR ram.

could this extra stuff be making my computer warmer? i dont want to have to take it out, especially not my ram.

Tell Dell to send the interns over with a new one, or just replace it. They are only about $10. Just check with Dell first and make sure you are not voiding the warranty

You can call Dell and have them send one of their computer repair guys out to your house. My friend lives way out in the middle of nowhere and they sent a guy who had to drive like an hour and a half to get there just to fix his dell, how's that for service? If you don't want to do that just buy a vantec stealth fan for like 15 bucks, they are really quiet and it's not that hard to change your fan, unless you're talking about the heat sink fan on your processor.
