Hey all, nice forums.

I have a Q for you, im in a small discussion with a buddy of mine about Cable select master slave and so on, does it have anything to do with your mother board if cable select or master slave does not work right?, this is what he says

The motherboard has nothing to do with cable select. It's between the drive and the cable alone. is this true,?

Cable select should work on any mobo with an intergrated hard disk controller that supports it.

Usually you have to use an 80 wire 40 pin cable.
The cable has the be the right way around, the furthest device is the master and the closest is the slave.

Also you need to make sure both devices are set to cable select.
