Hi all i have a quick question about windows 2003 . I have a system that isnt properly shutting down. But no event are written to the event log. I know in Linux while the system is shutting down. You can view each process that is being terminated. Is there anyway to do that in windows? Or is there anyway to log what is being shutdown?

Thanks
Matthew Ellis

Can you be a bit more specific on what the problem is?

Is it hanging, if so on what screen? There can be many causes to this problem, more info will rule out many things.

Yes it is hanging. When you shutdown the machine it starts the normal shutdown. As the last shutdown screens displayed "Windows is Shutting down the system". That box disappears and all that is left is the mouse curser on a gray background for about 10 seconds you can move the mouse then the machine fully locks up.

The machine in question is a SuperMicro SuperServer 7045B-3 / 7045B-3B
We are using 1x LSI MegaRAID SAS 8208XLP
and 2x NGX2400 Audio Codes digital trunk recording cards
1x NGX800 Audio Codes digtial trunk recording cards
