? If so how do you like it. I was thinking of getting one but it' hard to make a comparison between my Thermalright Ultra 120eXtreme because of the fan I'm using which pushes 98CFM, a bit more powerful than the ones in the V series coolers but to large to use there (120x120x38mm vs. 120x120x25mm).

I don't think it will get any better than what you have.

agreed, you have one of the best coolers already made, those 2 are pretty far off in comparison if memory serves me right.

Dont bother. The TRUE is about as good as it gets.If you want better temps just lap the base. You can get another -5c with a good lap job.Lap the IHS on the cpu and get another 3/4c drop

No, I used to use it on my E6400. It runs a tad warm at 3.4 on stock cooling. Which is where it is now since I gave it to my kid. My E8400 runs at 23C at 4GHz with the 120extreme. I'm not messing with that. The kids into the bling thing. I was thinking of geetting him the V8 or 10, but if they aren't comparable, I'll just get him another 120.

Hippy,

if you were to get either one of them.... get the V8... the V-10 is HUGE... it will stick well beyond past the memory and off the mb.

But..... i wouldnt bother with either one of them as the TRUE is the same performance and its the one to set the standard for air cooling to be beat.

If you want to get something that will give him some bling and will out perform the TRUE... get him the Coolit Domino A.L.C - http://www.coolitsystems.com/index.php?option=com_content&...p;Itemid=5 It shows some great results in all the reviews out there... AND... the retail price is only 79.99.

Your current cooling solution should be better than the V8. I havent seen the V10 in action but it won't fit many motherboards IMO, way too big. Good idea for ram cooling though.

Don't rule out AMD so fast, they can't be the best all the time. ;)

I found a review of the V10 versus the TRUE with a decent fan at 85CFM. The test was using A core2 Q9450 at 3.6 and an i7 920 at 3.6. The TRUE was cooler with the core2 but the V10 beat it out by a hair with the i7. At twice the price not worth it. And if the V10 is better than the V8 that leaves the V8 out of the picture. The 85CFM fan on the TRUE was 35dBA. They didn't list dBA for max on the V10 fan, though at minimum it was only 7dBA. End of story. The review was at:
