i just had to replace my laptop and still have the old one. however i was wondering if i could use the memory in the old laptop (Dell inspiron) in the new laptop (Compaq Presario CQ60) to make it work faster. or any other ways to speed up my laptop at no additional costs.

Well, as long as your Dell used DDR2 and the memory is as fast or faster than what came with your CQ60, it should work.
