These are all of the scripts and styles that I've made for my personal use at HWA. I've posted a couple of these in other threads, but they've since moved and been updated a lot, so I figured I would post them all in one location. I'm happy to take any questions or comments on any of them. More to come. :_)

The userscripts require the Greasemonkey extension: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/748
The userstyles require the Stylish extension: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/2108

Hardware Analysis Quick Reply (userscript): http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/46104
-- adds a "quick reply" box to the bottom of every thread and PM, so you can post from the same window/tab as the thread itself

-- "preview" function for posts. All HWA-specific bbcode, quote blocks, and smileys work for previews. URI activation is still a bit spotty, and it doesn't filter swear words (but they will be filtered when you actually post)

-- adds "Quick Quote." This replaces the "Quote" button on post headers with a bold "Quote" link, which, when clicked, adds the username and time of that post to the Quick Reply box, for easy in-thread quoting

-- will not allow you to post an empty reply (so you don't have to worry about clicking it by accident, unless you've already typed something)

-- when you're not logged in or the thread is locked, quick reply is disabled

Screenshot:
http://img504.imageshack.us/img504/1593/quickreplyh.png

Hardware Analysis Thumbnails (userscript): http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/46111
-- replaces links to public image sites with clickable thumbnails of the image

-- works with Imageshack, TinyPic, Photobucket and WhatImg (I can also add any other site that uses predictable thumbnail filenames by request)

Screenshot:
http://img504.imageshack.us/img504/8745/thumbnail.png

Hardware Analysis PPD (userscript): http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/46114
-- adds "posts per day" to all user profiles

-- adds the number of years and days a user has been a member to user profiles (may not always be totally acurrate yet)

Screenshot:
http://img403.imageshack.us/img403/2333/ppd.png

Hardware Analysis Advanced Search (userscript): http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/46115
-- adds a direct link to the "advanced search" page next to the search bar on all pages

Screenshot:
http://img512.imageshack.us/img512/2026/asearch.png

Hardware Analysis McModded (userstyle): http://userstyles.org/styles/16809
-- changes the overall look of HWA, for the better if you ask me

-- you might have some trouble with this one, since it was designed specifically for my resolution (1280x800). If you have some problems, let me know and I'll see what I can do about making it work right on your res.

Screenshot (before and after):
http://img93.imageshack.us/img93/7163/mcmodded.png

Hardware Analysis Favicon II (userstyle): http://userstyles.org/styles/16810
-- changes the favicon to a new one I created, based on the HWA "boxes"

Screenshot (before and after):

McFly,
I've used some of your past mods in Firefox.
Unfortunately, my primary browser is IE8.
I'd love if you could code for IE as well.
I know that the tools may be lacking, but it woudl be great not to have to open two browsers just to get the GREAT functionallity that you are giving the end user.

Does IE8 have userscript/userstyle plugins? If so, I would bet I could pretty easily make my existing mods work over there.

Just gave that a go, sadly it only supports running scripts on a whole domain, and not specific subpages, such as having quick-reply only on threads and PM's. It would try to put them on EVERY page at hardwareanalysis.com. :| That could get funky.

McFly Thanks so much for your worthy contribution. I'm a user of quite a lot of your scripts and add-on! But I found some new ones here. It was nice of you to make this organized post.

The Advance search and PPD is awesome, but I'm not sure about the Favicon :P
Color change is nice though.
Now of course I vote for this to be a sticky!

Hehe, that's okay. Like I said, all of these were made for my personal use, so not all may match your taste. I had just gotten kind of tired of the current favicon, which is basically just a screenshot of the logo image. :~

Those are some nice mods. I like mods that keep everything the same but make it better.

what would be cool though is if when you clicked "quote" it automatically sent you to the bottom of the page to type your response.

If you look in the source for that script (Tools -> GM -> Manage -> *click* -> Edit), you'll find the line with (just search for it) ...

window.scrollTo

... has been commented out. I had that in there originally, but since my Quick Quote isn't pasting any comments in (just the header), I want to be able to copy the parts that I want before going to the bottom. If you want, just uncomment that line (remove the //), and refresh. Now clicking Quote will take you all the way down.

Re: GM4IE. I just realized (it's so obvious) that all I need to is let the scripts run domain-wide, but then just put a little check first-thing to look at the URI, and if it's not a thread (content/topic) or a PM, then return. I'll see what I can do with that.

Would there be any way to make a proper quotation method to HWA? The default quotation format is super lame, and it doesn't differentiate the quote box from general text well enough. This is why I continue to customize my quote boxes.

Maybe Vitaliy can help, too -- I'm just saying, putting the quoted person's name in un-formatted plain text outside of the quote box is really... too simple. It should at least be bold, perhaps underlined, and inside the quote box. And it ought to have the date of the quote, as well -- but I was told once that that would be more difficult due to HWA users being in different time zones, etc.

But at least the name should be fixed and put into the quote box.

This is how my script formats quotes ^

I added the user ID numbers (61659 in your case), since it's easy enough for anybody to change their name to match another user.

Just updated two of the scripts:

Quick Reply: Quotes were being applied to the quick reply box even when logged off (and the box is disabled). Fixed

Thumbnails: Some images which were too small for Imageshack to generate thumbnails for were just getting a placeholder icon because the brower couldn't find the thumbnail URL. I added an onError handler to just place the direct image there in that case. For example, my Googicide logo:
http://img385.imageshack.us/img385/1462/googicide.png
http://img136.imageshack.us/img136/6291/googicide64.png

If that shows up as a link for you, then you don't even have the script installed. SHAME!
If that shows up as a placeholder icon, you have the old version.
If you see the dying G, you have the updated version. :)

::: Updated again to make sure that only one onError was done. Otherwise, if it was a 404, it would just keep going in a loop. :P I also made errored images (when your browser can't find the image or the thumbnail) just go back to a normal text-link.

Agree 100%.

I'd recommend using UCT/GMT but that confuses a lot of peeps. I really don't see the difficulty mentally (in one's mind without a calculator) of adding/subtracting X hours to UCT for local time, but that's apparently a huge problem for some folks on the intertubes. I think most HWA'ers wouldn't have any problem stepping up.
