Lovely pics!! I think the A380 Rocks! I tried taking off a short runway with it, and
ended up chopping down a forrest before finally taking off haha!! Crazy to land too!

Sean, it's a good game, and like Plug mentioned it's different and a change.
I highly recommend it! ;)

Hehe we're slowly but surely gathering a flying squad here guys!!
Plug once we get you sorted out, we'll meet up at some airport - drinks first of course -
then fly off with Ryan Air. They are famed for drinking & Flying and overshooting runways
PMSL!!!! I can vouch for this too!! No joke!!

Did that A380 include a virtual cockpit? Ive been able to get about 6 of them but none have a 3D cockpit :(

Lol! Now you know what to do i'm glad. I never EVER extract files to directory. I wanna
see where they go, so i extract to Desktop then I know what they are and where they
are. Then I manually put them in directory.

Man you rarely get a full cockpit with 3rd party aircraft josh. It's a pain

No mine has no virtual prick pit either mate....I will deffo keep an eye out for one. But I have two lovely A380 now....a Qauntus and a Malaysian Air both of them high res GMAX models with all the wing flex animations etc....Sawwwwwwwweeeeet.

Flew her on her maiden voyage today on my lunch (yes on my powerful laptop) from London Heathrow to JFK New York (Need two big runways to take off and land) I could not take off from my home airport Dublin as its TINY compared to the A380.

But all was very well and landed first time its was just like the real thing.

Also Josh,

Remember I asked you about the freq. in the heart attack mission...you told me to stick it in NAV1, well the freq. was 350.09 and the NAV1 only goes from 108-110 or something like that....still have not done that mission yet!!!

And other ideas mate...what about COM1 or something?

No Tam,

I only like certain aircraft I dont D/L for the sake of it....I did D/L a concorde pack and it works but no prick pit and only outside views.

There is a very high quality 3D co.ckpit for the FS2004 on flyawaysimulation.com.

Sorry for the delay on this but I have been enjoying my Saitek PZ44 which finally arrived :) It's amazing, makes everything way more realistic and I barely use the keyboard now :)

That freq belongs to an NDB in some Airport. For example, if you look Casa De Campo International Airport, you will see an LRN (La Romana) NDB and if you click on it on it on the map, the frequency should be 325.0. You can then press the ADF button on your Radio/Audio control panel, tune into 325.0 or whatever frequency and you will see that your ADF indicator with a big yellow arrow will point to the NDB which will lead you to the airport - just follow the direction where the arrow points to.

Once you have it tuned in, you will also here a Morse code, just like when you use NAV1 and a VOR/DME.

Glad you are loving the Saiteks mate....I would love the sterring wheel not so much the throttle sticks....I would prefer the X52 pros.

However I will not be playing FSX again for the near future....I had a few problems installing it the first time around and bearly got the game installed. But I downloaded so many planes and that it was getting a few crashes....so I uninstalled it and no it will not re install, this is a major problem with vista 64 and the net is awash with peeps getting errors (1335) etc. I trying for 3 hours last night with Tam and no joy either its a major onboard conflict or the discs are FOOKED.....either way I am of air for about a week I would say....

Plug n Play A380 Heavy.....emergency landing over!!!!

Hmmmm.....You can actually lower the throttle to idle without it getting stuck. That's the trick, if you lower it past idle it becomes stuck and proceeds to be a new button, which I have made into reverse thrust. It's awesome. When I land the bigger planes like the A320 or the 737 this thing is awesome. Once you get used to it flying is way smoother and way more realistic as well.

Now with your game :( Sorry to hear that. I had the FSX with the Acceleration pack using XP x64 SP2 and had tons of crashes. So what I did was I removed the whole game and all the addons. Then I re-installed but did not re-install the acceleration pack, just SP1 and SP2 which you can download for free. Now the game is as smooth as can be :)

Josh, he can't even extract the files from DVD to Desktop to install it.
I reckon he has a DVD Drive problem in this instance. Although it may be
working perfectly well with other discs, it's not working with the FSX Discs.
It's a CAB extraction that's the main culprit. Although he did mention there
were a few other random problems during installation, but the CAB files on extraction
are the main problem.

Plug, can you get a hold of an external HDD, extract the files from the DVD's on your
Laptop, then transfer to HDD and install on your computer from there or even dump
the files onto desktop and install from there.

That's exactly what I was going to suggest. Try to extract the files in another PC and then toss them over. Make sure the media is not scratched either. I tend to make ISO copies of all my games on my serve just in case.

That is what I will do now. I will copy the two discs onto my laptop and tranfer them onto my NAS drive. Then try to run them off that...I have reserved two packs in the shop I got this one from....FSX GOLD (Deluxe and Accel.) and FSX Deluxe.

So I will have new discs tomorrow in anyway....If I get new discs and it still does not work I will Reformat the WHOLE PLUG N PLAY MACHINE!!!!!

It does feel funny flying a plane with a stick vs a yoke. That's why I also kept my Joystick: http://www.activewin.com/reviews/hardware/joysticks/microsoft/...f2full.jpg

HA HA! I try to keep it as real as possible :P I can switch easily between the two.

UPDATE:

So after trying new dics, getting a new DVD player and still no joy. I had to do what I did not want to do.....REFORMAT MY HDD.

And it worked....obviously, a particular windows update or some small application I installed would not let this FOOKin thing re-install. But alas I am back in the sky with my FSX GOLD EDITION.

Now I want to get two add-ons, unfortunately one of them is only for FS2004 ><img src=" title=">:O"> but I will search and try to get it....

The videos of that concorde are just gobsmacking....

I seen a video on YOU TUBE of some dude with the saitek flight stick flying a 747 and the level of detail was nothing like I have in FSX...I will try to find the link.....
