Hi im kinda new to overclocking and this is my first build. I got my CPU to run at 3.00 (1333FSB) just fine and I would like to take it even higher. Problem is is not stable at 3.6 and I was wondering if anyone else has specific voltage/fsb specs that work for the q6600 at 3.6 because my pc either blue screens or freezes when testing it with Prim95 under 3.6

Motherboard: AsRock P45TurboTwins2000 (has FSB jumpers for 1066, 1333, 1600 and default for up to 2000Mhz FSB). Currently set the jumpers to 1333 to run my cpu at 3.0

CPU: Q6600 G0 Stepping
Cooler: Tuniq Tower
Temps: 36 idle, 53 full load in prime 95
RAM: OCZ Intel Extreme DDR3 1333 2x2GB sticks set to AUTO timings. Set voltage to 1.77V cause my mobo doesn't have the 1.75V option. The ram can go higher to 1600 if needed at 1.9V based on what OCZ says. Set at 1333 currently.
Case: NZXT Zero 2
Case cooling: 7x120mm fans and 2x80mm fans

I got the latest BIOS version 2.1 and Vista x64

BIOS gives me AUTO, LOW, Middle, High and Highest options for NB, SB, SB1.1 instead of actual numbers.

I can set the ram and cpu voltage only in terms of numbers. If I set the cpu to 1.50V (red) and NB to high or highest and I can boot into Windows but pc will freeze or blue screen within a minute of prime95 testing.

Before I'll set my jumper to 1600MHZ i was wondering if anyone can help me with this and if someone else out there has this specific mobo or mobo/cpu combination. Thanx.

NOTE: Motherboard gives the option for CPU votlage and no Vcore voltage. 1.50V in BIOS is read as 1.43V in CPU-Z.

I don't have your exact CPU but maybe I can provide a few tips.

First off, if you can limit your ram speed to 1333mhz in the bios that would be a good start. Just to make sure your ram isn't the limiting point in the overclocks. Also make sure you manually type in the timings for your ram because i've noticed that some boards don't auto detect the right ones and make your system unstable.

Up the fsb. lock the ram speed or maybe if you can't lock it, drop it down so when you OC it goes back up to 1333. Raise the CPU fsb x multiplier to get your desired clock. Raise the vcore (if cpu-z is showing it lower than BIOS thats okay) and play around with voltages, raise it up a few steps if it doesn't boot, if that doesnt help maybe fsb is too high, drop it down, and just playing around with ram/fsb/voltages you should be able to find the sweet spot.

Edit: CPU voltage is the vcore in your case

Sorry if this doesn't help much.
