Michael only says these things to wind peeps up....FACT. This is the man who also said Jimi Hendrick could not play the guiter in not so many words....Whatever man.

Back on Topic.....

I was a fan of the Performer not the man, he is without doubt an absolute legend. A legend that was never forfilled IMHO....he traded off two very successfull albums but never built on them....by rights the man should have toured the world and played to millions of fans to "STAMP" his mark as the KING OF POP, not be given it by a screen legend who he wanted to marry (Elizabeth Taylor).

You too, would have troubles if you had the childhood he had....and f**k his old man pretending to be sad he is gone when that MOFO bet his son(s) black and blue day in day out from the age 4.

Any "ARTIST" that had an album in the best selling chart in the world US Top 10/20 for over 85 weeks is a "LENGEND".

Any one who thinks this man had no talent is a FOOL.

WORD.

HEHE.....SHAMONE!

Now if John Petrucci died, I would probably go into depression.

I had to look that up just to see who it was. I was never impressed with Dream Theater. Sounds like a million other bands I've heard before. :~

Dude, f**k Michael Jackson.

If that's true then that's your problem McFly :) Dream Theater is the pinnacle of Progressive Rock/Metal and no band will likely ever rival them for that.

There is NO band that sounds like Dream Theater. Either you've never really listened to them or your listening skills and musical understanding are zilch ;)

I think most people would say that about you and Michael Jackson ... BUT ...

... in all fairness, that is one of the dumbest arguments for/against a musical artist. Telling somebody that their "musical understanding skills" are substandard just because they don't like some particular artist just means that you're unable to accept the fact that your opinion isn't shared by everybody.

I'm willing to accept that you don't like Michael Jackson. That's fine, plenty of people don't. But similarly, you'll have to accept that I don't like Dream Theater. I did in fact give them an honest listen. I had heard good things from good people that I respect, so I downloaded it. I wouldn't bother downloading it if I hadn't of wanted to give it a real listen. I never said that their music was bad ... just not something that I liked.

You didn't say you didn't like them - you said they sound like all the other bands you've heard, and that is just not possible. If you listened to Dream Theaters' old stuff, you would know that(hopefully). They are by far my favorite band and I cannot tolerate insolence towards them!

I can accept that you don't like them, but that's not what you said. (And frankly, I don't know how you don't like them!?)

I suppose I wasn't entirely accurate then -- I didn't mean to imply that they sound JUST like other bands, just that I didn't hear anything that (for me) set them apart from other bands. Every band has their own sound, and Dream Theater is surely no exception to that.

(And frankly, I don't know how you don't like them!?)

Well, I'm not into metal much if it all anymore. Most of my (non-classic) Rock music is 90's grunge rock (Alice in Chains, Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, etc.) that I grew up listening to. Aside from that, 90% of what I listen to is electronic music.

I meant no disrespect to your favorite band, plz forgive me, mah master! :D

It doesn't matter if he was hated or rated. His music was so influential in every aspect.
It's been sampled, by most top artists & producers.

Michael C... I know that deep down you think he rocks, and your aspirations of white sox

Sad that such a huge icon died. Now interestingly enough this is going to bring back the MJ fashion I can assure everyone that. Today the news reported that Michale Jackson has sold out in almost every store here in Puerto Rico, I've even heard a few cars pumping out some loud Michael Jackson singles. And every radio station here is playing Michael Jackson, even the news have dedicated their time to Michael Jackson!

I think I can say this with certainty, that no other "star" has had such a big impact in world culture.
