I am not sure if I ever posted pictures last summer after my interior paint mod, but this summer I went even more hardcore with my completely blacked out Centurion 5 case. The drive bezel now matches and has been debadged off the DVD logos. The Centurion logo next to the power button was removed, and the metal was flattened. I also painted over the Cooler Master logo on top, so now there is no logos or brand names at all on the outside of the case. In addition all the power buttons and reset buttons and all formerly silver and/or aluminum pieces are now black. And some pictures of course:

In the future, I'd like to get another quiet 120mm fan for the front 5.25" drive bays that lines up with the 120mm fan on the Thermalright Ultra 120 heatsink and the 120mm exhaust in the back. Also I'd like to get a SATA DVD burner which will clean it up even more.

Thanks, the before pictures I took years ago came out better then the after pictures. Maybe it's the lighting in my room today, or my camera just doesn't work as good as it use to. I'm gonna try and get some better pictures, you can barely see any detail. Also not sure if yo ucan tell but there is a hole next to the PSU for the wires to pass behind the mobo tray.

Haha, thanks, I thought so too :)

I'm thinking about putting a 80mm blue LED fan (later a 120mm fan when I get one) in the 5.25" bays above the DVD drive. How would you guys secure it? My case already has a mesh front that allows plenty of air to flow through, so that is not a problem. I just don't want the fan causing vibrations in the case or moving around. I've read zip ties as an option or velcro, so I'm looking into that.

Thanks everyone!

Alright, I got a question for you all. I decided to throw a really loud but beautiful old 120mm Thermaltake Thunderblade in the front 5.25" drive bays to see what it looked like. Here are the pictures below. But please let me know what I should do:

1. Get a quieter blue LED 120mm fan for the same spot
2. Get a black 120mm fan with no LEDs for the same spot
3. Don't bother with a fan there and put it back the way it was.

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a228/waterdrop006/0702092009.jpg

Maybe I should paint it white and get yellow LEDs? :P (negative, for fun)

EDIT: Probably obvious but with this sucker in there my CPU is running cooler then I have ever seen it run in my life. Three 120mm fans pushing air over the CPU (not to mention a fourth 120mm in the PSU above it) creates something that sounds like a wind tunnel though.

really nice job you did Adam... I looks very clean. Its got that stealth black theme look. by the way, did you use gloss, semi gloss, or flat black? also, did you use anything over it for protection? Also, just to let you know... with black..... you are gonna see the dust buildup alot easier ... :)

Adam seriously that's good what you've done but if it were me I would stand out and make it as different as all the black and blues**t these days as possible. Seriously, I'm sick of the black and blue leds look. You know... that white and yellow idea doesn't sound so bad. It'll make your case very uniqe imo.

The interior, the metal frame underneath, the frame of the front of the case (where it originally had the Cooler Master name on it), the drive bezel for my BenQ DVD burner, the pieces around the USB/audio/firewire ports, and the piece around the power/reset buttons, and the buttons them selves are all in "satin black" (which is a semi-gloss it seems).

The two aluminum trim pieces on the front are done in gloss black and provide a nice transition between the black case sides and mesh front.

So far it's acctually been a year since the interior and some other pieces have been painted and they still look great. No clear coat or anything, but when I redo the aluminum bars that go down the sides of each front I will probably do a clear coat on them as they did get a few scratches in them over the past year.

The satin black doesn't show dust at all in the interior, and I can't say the gloss shows dust that much either. The parts that show dust the most are the top and the front mesh grills which I never painted, they are the same as they were when the case was new.

I acctually originally wanted to go for the all black stealth look like this but with Red LEDs. The reason I have blue ones is because the OCZ 700W PSU I bought has 120mm blue LED fan in it, and the power and reset LEDs are blue on the case. I also had an 80mm blue LED fan laying around that I replaced with the original black 80mm fan that came with the case. The second set of pictures showing the additional 120mm blue LED fan in the 5.25" bays is just something temporary I decided to try out.

I used to have that case, I loved it just the way it was. <3 ... your mod is a little "too black" for me.

Although the black interior is pwn. :_)

Interestingly enough, they actually sell this case in some parts of the world in an all black version called "pure black". They seem to be easy to find in New Zealand, but I was not going to import a $50 case just to get a certain color. However, I doubt it comes with a black interior.

Yeah, that's what I would be after is the interior. Maybe I should mod the interior color of my laptop ...
