How do you think HWA pays for servers/bandwidth? I prefer not to block ads on sites that I care about keeping in business.

i was about to say something about that too. at least you guys could be a little bit more selective about what ads you put on the site.

You can either be part of the problem or be part of the solution.

You know, though, I just came from a site to which I'll never return. I opened three tabs from it's homepage, and was about halfway done reading the first article when something un-f**king-believably annoying started sounding off. Somewhere on the page, an ad was playing about how "Glad Bleach 'em Alls" (or whatever the f**k) were just fantastic for cleaning around the house or some such bullshit, before another ad (in the same location, different ad, on the second tab) had just finished loading to it could vomit it's consumerist blather all over my ES Posthumous music.

The worst part? NONE of them contained the means by which to mute, or pause, or anything. They were "interactive" ads. I was fuming at the fact that the douchebag who approved these ads, the douchebags who made them, and the douchebags who approved them for publication on the site are all reeling in more money than I make. Something needed murdering, and that something needed to be in arms reach.

To an extent, an ad is an ad. But the site does, to some extent, owe it's readership a level of respectability with ads. If ads are sufficiently irritating to the user, they will leave and that site just lost revenue anyways.

...so, c'mon, HWA. That ad makes the internet cry.

You're right Beavis, I forget that this is from Sander's own pocket and this is for us :(

Question:

Do I have to click on the ads to make them count towards profit or just by showing them will it work?
