I am experiencing "popping/crackling' when playing my xbox 360. it seems to happen only when playing the xbox & games by EA (tiger woods 08, fifa 09). the 'HD gaming' intro makes my speakers pop as well as other misc. in-game events. anyone know whats going on?

the xbox is connected to my tv via hdmi and my tv is connected to my reciever via audio cables (red/white).

Are you online when you play these games.....or even signed into Xbox Live? Or does it happen when offline aswell. Just trying to get a bit of background....I dont think its a hardware problem as you would get it all the time not just some games.

Yes i am signed into xbox live but not playing online.

It seems to happen only in the games that have the HD gaming intro (by EA sports).

Ok so I found the solution. A while back I was having trouble with sound cutting out completely when ever I changed a channel or input source on my TV (Cable box connected to tv via audio/video component cables, tv connected to reciever via optical cable, xbox 360 connected via HDMI - http://www.hardwareanalysis.com/content/topic/74381/).

To fix THAT problem, I connected my cable box audio to my reciever via optical cable and kept the cable box video connected to the component input, and connected the TV to the reciever via audio/video component cables. (Yes, complicated).

Since then, I was getting popping/crackling every time i tried to play an EA game (with the HD gaming intro). So to test, I reverted back to the original configuration and now it works! No popping with games and so far, no audio cutting out.
