well G.G.
i can't turn it off because it takes forever to come back on. it's ridiculous.
i have the same problem at stock, from day one.
i tried Crucial ballistix pc8500/ 1066 and even clocked them down to pc6400/ 800
also tried ocz platnium pc8500/ 1066, also at pc6400/ 800
tried some ballistix tracers pc6400/ 800
tried g.skill pc8500/1066, they work and will boot fine if i set them to pc6400/800

modules work fine in the p5q and other boards

i just pick up a blackops for cheap and thought i use it for benching but i might end up switching it out with the ud3p and put that on the bench
i bought the ud3p for my workstation where i like to run a decent stable oc

You can either be part of the problem or be part of the solution.

Oh... youre saying that you can't turn it off because of the cycling reboot issue... NOT that if you shutdown the system and power does not turn off.... ok....

I noticed that in your sig that you are running 4 x 1gb dimms.... im wondering if this is the issue.... Have you tried just running with only 2 sticks?

my system and my brothers, are only running with two sticks (2 x 2gb) and all doing fine. I set the memory to 2.0~2.1 volts, timing set to sticks specs, and speed to stick specs.. .

But then again... we are not OC'n.

I think maybe you should try just clearing CMOS... get everything back to default.... set your memory manually to your memory specs.... use only two sticks.... and then go from there... see at first if everything is stable before you go OC'n.

If the OC goes well......... run it for awhile...... for stability ...

Then add in the second set of dimms.... if it starts to do its reboot issue.... then you'll have to start relaxing the timings.....

i have been thru 4 different set, 3 different brands, tried at stock all and auto bios settings to aggresive with overvolt to very conservative, 2 modules, 4 modules, single stick, to much much more.

it just won't get even halway solid or near where i need it to be.
not even with out oc. i even tried different cpu's

i still have the ds3l which runs without a prob, loves the g.skill

BoT,

dude.... sorry to hear you are having so much issues with that GA-EP45-DS3P in regards to stability and especially when trying to OC..... not sure why at this point.....

I'm just going on my experiences with Gigabyte mb's..... and so far all have been stellar. I have gone through 4 of them now.... all are solid.... two that are 9 months old, 1 that is 3 yrs old, and the last is new to production of only couple of weeks old but the board itself is new and been sitting in the box for the past 2yrs....

All are solid... well at least stock speeds... I havent done any OC'n to any of these boards... so I cant pass along those experiences....

with the GA-EP45-UD3R/UD3P line...... I wouldnt think that you would have had the issues you have ran into....

what are the chances that you have ran into a bad batches of UD3P ????? who knows.....

maybe get another one from a different e-tailer/retailer ........ or maybe even switch to the UD3R........
