A few "fair words" I like to say to newer members here just to ask for technical help on their computer questions / problems.

There are a lot of knowledgeable people here in the forum. Some of these are professionals directly in the computer industry. Some of these are hardcore computer enthusiasts who live and breath the latest and greatest of computer hardware. Some of these are young computer geniuses. They know what they're talking about with computers. They love to share their computer knowledge and to learn more by helping others. That's why they're helping you.

When you're asking for technical help, please keep in mind that these people are helping you in strictly voluntary basis. You need to know that these people do not work for you. They do not owe you nothing. They may not be right all the time. They may not be serious all the time. But by providing you with answers and recommendations, they are in fact doing you a favor! Think about how much you need to pay for professional technical consultation, and they may not be as helpful as people here sometimes.

So very simple, if you play fair, you will be treated fairly. Please be respectful, and listen to their recommendations. You can always stay your opinions and discuss politely if you don't agree with the answers. You are welcome to help each other learn. But you need to know that if everyone's telling you the same thing, chances are they're right and you're wrong.

The last thing you want to do is to insult their intelligence. Because if you do that, you ended up with no help! In addition, please refrain from any personal attacks, there are Fair Use Policies in this forum and you can get banned by violating these rules. This is true for this forum, as well as for other computer forums.

I can't help but to say this, because of my observations of several question and answer threads in the past few weeks. And I am saying this for everyone's fairness.

Well done, I've felt the same way with some recent forum activity as well. This should be made into a sticky.

Yep - right on 'Dragon Peaceful" :) Agree
Tell you what I do. I go to the profile info to see how the person is ranked, and how long they have been on the forum, and if they are confident enough to put in their REAL name as well as a 'moniker'.

Hear Hear!!!

I agree Dr. You've made some clever observations indeed. Now may I ask what was the last thread that set off the need to write this post? I'm not hoping for anything as fun as Plug's posts but rather something that will kill some boredom ya!?

Sticky vote!!!

Sorry dude, I'm not entitle to prescribe anything. I am just a lab rat. Go get some Aspirin, it cures everything! ;) j/k.

What made me write this thread is accumulation of other threads, including P&P's incident. You know what threads I am talking about, if you follow the forum closely. In addition, I've seen increasing amount of tech questions threads. So this can be a general reminder for those answer seekers to be aware of.

Most answer seekers are polite and easy to interact with. Only a few are tough to deal with.

should maybe be a sticky, maybe even front page

You can either be part of the problem or be part of the solution.
