Ok so here's the deal.

I currently have a 22" Samsung LCD monitor and a Xbox 360 system. There is a deal on right now at Newegg that only lasts for a 23.6" HD 1080p monitor for $199 free shipping.

The new PlayStation 3's just came out today at a low price of $299 with a redesigned look, 120GB harddrive and tons of new features. What I want to do is make these two things work so that I can watch Blu-Ray movies on this monitor. This is not the problem, though.

The problem is the sound. I have Logitech Z-2300's that I want to hook up with this system for sound, but am sure where I could/would do that if I were to buy the monitor and ps3. Can someone confirm where/how I can hook up these speakers?

Here is a link to the monitor - there is a green connector on the back where I would assume the speakers go but am unsure and have no positive way to find out. Does anyone know!?!?

Though im not sure how the connectors for the Logitech go you'd probably need to get a Reciever with HDMI input/output and hook the speakers up to that reciever due to the HDMI transfering bother video and audio and obviously the Montior doesnt have any speakers and the only jack for speakers on it is that little headphone jack, I believe.

If you conencted the PS3 to the new monitor via HDMI, you would get audio and video from that monitor. The audio jacks on the monitor are to connect audio source into them so that they will play out of the monitor's speakers. Your only other option is to connect to a reciever (above post) or somehow rig the PS3 component cables so that the video cables connect to a VGA/DVI/HDMI adapter and the audio cables connect to a headphone jack adapter, and then plug that into your speakers audio connection.

Michael why not save and buy a cheap but definitely way bigger Tv? Vizio's are nice and have a great price!

Really you don't notice much if anything on that screen size. In fact Blu-ray is not all that.

I agree. You can get 32" 720p LCD tvs for under $400 these days. I have my xbox 360 & stereo system connected to one. You'd be able to connect your PC speakers no problem.

Hmmm, yeah I tend to agree. The upgrade is not worth it IMHO, try and get a bigger TV Michael...but then from what I see on my Plasma the Sony machine does not scale aswell as it should. But with the new machine maybe its different, I have seen the new look but not the new features you refer to......

But what I have is a seperate Sony AMP which I have my Cable TV, PS3 and Denon DVD player all hooked up to....and then they running to my 5.1 surround. Its worth doing it right and you can get very cheap amps with multiple inputs on the back.

COMPUTERS ARE NOT JUST MY LIFE...THEY ARE MUCH MORE IMPORTANT THEN THAT.
GO SELL CRAZY SOMEWHERE ELSE....WE'RE ALL STOCKED UP HERE!!!!!!

Well I may buy a bigger TV eventually, but I am also doing this so I can have a better PC gaming experience also with this monitor. $199 is cheaper and I will sell my current 22" for roughly $160-170 so I'm not losing much there. I will also sell my X-360 for about 200 to cover some of the cost of the PS3.

I figure with the new 24" monitor I can play PC games at a high resolution and also hook my PS3 up to it to watch movies(DVD/Blu-Ray) and play games through it too. Currently we only have a 37" p.o.s TV that I play my 360 on so I'm thinking this LCD monitor will kick the s**t out of that at least.

I didn't have much time before the sale ended so I had to purchase the monitor. I also went over and picked up the PS3, KillZone 2, and a 10 foot HDMI cable. So now I just need to wait on the monitor to get here from Newegg.

Also, I tried looking for some decent TV's in this area and the best one I could find was a 40" Sony for $800 and I just could not spend that much, AND buy a PS3 also. I hope I made the right choice for the price.

The composite audio to 1/8" adapter? That is what I suggested earlier. Radioshack should have them for like $5.

I will check, if so, this will be sweet. You could find one of these on Newegg could you?

I couldn't, no. The one I have came with my cable that connects my xbox 360 to a VGA port & reciever (or speakers with the adapter). I'm pretty positive Radioshack would have something like that. I think thats your best bet.
