i just switched to windows 7, and ever since have been crashing left and right. was stable on vista x64 ult for idk a year, actually though it would very occasionally crash, like once every few months, that bothered me but i never dealt with it completely, it would pass a 24hr+ p95 torture test, wasn't sure what to do from there, it would take so long for anything to happen.

anyway, now i'm crashing daily, and the first thing i did was start adjusting bios settings. unfortunately i'm right in the middle of transferring TB's of files from dead unraid server, and actually with that i'm using this antiquated program YAReg, it converts reiserFS data back to NTFS, i'm wondering also if that has anything to do with it. at first i thought it was just happening in WMC but it just happens seemingly randomnly. so the major difference is windows 7, could that be causing my instability?

thanks,
rlr

I would say it has nothing to do with the O/S directly. It would depend on the version your using. I have gone from XP, Vista and now Win7 all x64 and the only thing that has changed really is the CPU from a Duo to a Quad and a new mobo.

Did you fresh install or are you dual booting....I would say its a driver conflict or something like that.

COMPUTERS ARE NOT JUST MY LIFE...THEY ARE MUCH MORE IMPORTANT THEN THAT.
GO SELL CRAZY SOMEWHERE ELSE....WE'RE ALL STOCKED UP HERE!!!!!!

Try running stress tests (memtest, cpu burn) and etc and see how stable it is.
