I had about 700 wins and a 15 game win streak in freecell on XP before I upgraded to 7. I was devistated when I saw that no games were installed!

I still dream about that game... :(

By default the games are not installed in Windows 7 Professional because it is made to be used in a business or educational setting. As far as I know the other versions of Windows 7 (Home Premium and Ultimate) do install the games by default.

I have a computer with Windows 7 Home Premium on it and I read a lot of articles on how to get Free Cell, Spider, Solitaire, Mine Sweeper and Hearts on Windows 7 but nothing seemed to work. By accident I clicked on the little round "start" button located in the lower left corner of the screen and typed in s p i d e r and low and behold a program listing showed up above that could be dragged onto the desktop as an Icon. So from what I know all the old games are contained in Win 7 Home Premium addition just not shown anywhere which will make a lot of people buy new games listed on the Game Explorer screen.

The games are there, just out of the way.

Click on Windows(Start) Icon

In the search box type:-

OptionalFeatures

Click on the OptionalFeatures (in the resultant box)

Once it opens up, tick the Games box, also expand the Games link, then tick the games you want

Press ok, and restart system.
