Windows 7 Enterprise
This edition targets the enterprise segment of the market and will be sold through volume licensing to companies which have Software Assurance contract with Microsoft.[15] Additional features include support for Multilingual User Interface (MUI) packages, BitLocker Drive Encryption, and UNIX application support.[15] Not available through retail or OEM channels, this edition will be distributed through Microsoft Software Assurance (SA).[15] As a result it includes several SA-only benefits, including a license allowing the running of multiple virtual machines, and activation via VLK.[16]
Enterprise and Ultimate have the same feature set. The only real difference is that Enterprise is only available through SA channels, and uses KMS or MAK activation. Ultimate is sold at retail and as OEM.
Really the only 3 us normal humans will have to worry about is Home Premium, Profesional, and Ultimate.
Win7 Starter is like Vista Home Basic and is for Netbooks. Home Basic is like the Vista Starter; it is only for small foreign countries/markets. Enterprise is like Win7 Professional but only available in large license quantities and is aimed at large businesses. Professional has all of the features of Home Premium plus multiple other features. Ultimate has no advantage over Pro except bitlocker and multiple languages.

So far the only difference between Enterprise and Ultimate is that Enterprise is without "premium games".....
What does "premium games" consist?
Currently on my Vista Enterprise x64, I have available to me Chess Titans, FreeCell, Hearts, Inkball, Solitaire, etc.......
Does this mean that the games above will be not available with Win 7 Enterprise?
If that is the case... doesnt really matter... hehehehehe...
I think the games wont be installed by default, but you MIGHT be able to install them after by going to Control Panel >> Uninstall program >> Turn windows features on/off. They didn't come installed on my Win 7 Professional, but I was able to install them later.
I was wondering the same thing.. on my Vista Enterprise I did the same thing... by default, those games mentioned above did not get installed during installation but was able to activate them as you mentioned.... So technically... Enterprise and Ultimate are identical with the exception on the method of how you would obtain the OS.
well... i will find out eventually... i have decided that I will install Win7 Enterprise on one of my laptop once I get a larger hdd for it...

Vista and 7 Enterprise are usually aimed at business or corporations. It is considered one level up from the Business version. Whenever I installed OSes for our small business I use Enterprise. It doesn't have all of the personal applications but it does have some.
