My signature is accurate for my computer minus all the overclocking. I reset everything to defaults.

The problem is, occasionally my computer will come to a crawl. Like it's going in slow motion. Takes applications long periods of time to close or open. Games will come to a stop but they do pick back up after 10 minutes.

I have stress tested everything and no problems at all. Everything comes back great. Memory is good (worked just fine in another computer also used 1 dimm at a time in current rig).

I am at a total loss, I have absolutely no clue how to troubleshoot this since it's sporadic. I have had this comp for about a year and a half then this just starts up.

Any clues or ideas I can start with?

I also replaced the OS 4 times and switched up the OS with Vista and Windows 7.

When this happens, open your task manager and see if your cpu usage spikes (also ram).
If this is only happening with online games, your internet/router on board lan etc could be the problem.

If this happens and you dont see a spike in cpu/ram usage, try disconnecting your internet from your pc.

Just got the hanging to reappear by using the media player, but unfortunately it's so bad that I can't even access the task manager when the problem occurs. I have to wait close to 5-10 minutes for the program to respond and by the time the hanging stops the cpu and memory usage are at a minimum.

Tried unplugging the I-Net but the problem still happens. This problem is aggravating to say the least. It can happen at any time on any program even FireFox gets jammed.

Here is an odd idea. Im just throwing them out there, but if there is somewhat of an irq conflict between the installed cards and some other peripheral, you could try a different pci slot.

I tried moving my sound card and the exact same thing happened. But, once the computer started "hanging" up again I had the Task Manager out to monitor the Mem and CPU.

All my backgroung tasks were frozen except for the Task Manager and the CPU usage dropped to 0-1% and the memory stayed the same which read 1.35 GB. This time though the computer didn't just pick back up, I was forced to restart it and it took close to 10 minutes for Windows to load.

Are there any errors that stand out? specifically relating to disk read errors? your'll see red or yellow symbols where something isn't right.
