Yep, Flex is kinda neat (and this is coming from someone who believes in Web/HTML rather than using 3rd party proprietary plugins). It is probably suitable more for web applications (think windows, menus, dialogs) but it surely can be used for anything else. And yes, it is written using a combination of ActionScript and MXML.
