Has anyone used Amazon's "Unbox" Video Player? Did it cause you any problems?

This interested me as they are offering to let you watch the premier episode of Stargate Universe for free. The Unbox supposedly offers viewing without commercials, "just like renting a movie". Of course I'm concerned about any other headaches it might unintentionally cause on some computers like destroying your current file extensions player choices (and I really hate resetting file extension-->application choices), or adware it might install (even if it claims you get to "watch the video" commercial free doesn't mean they won't bombard you another way), etc.

I'm assuming that the player somehow disables viewing a downloaded video after some set period of time. I was actually pretty surprised they provide that option. I can't see how they'd later control access to videos you converted to play on a "portable device" (e.g. cellphone, etc).

I also wasn't too happy that the only player "Unbox" can use is WMP11 (unless you convert the downloaded video to play on a portable device). There are superior freeware video players for Windows that give me MUCH better control over the colors, sound, etc.

Watch On the Go with the Free Unbox Video Player
In addition to watching instantly online, you can also download videos from Amazon Video On Demand to your Windows PC and watch them with the Unbox Video Player or with a compatible portable video device.

Although I'm expecting to be thoroughly disappointed by SG:Universe, I'd still like to check it out.

I used it to watch a couple HD episodes of Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles a couple years ago...

It seemed to work well enough, video/audio quality was great, the downloads were pretty fast, no crahses. I'd use it again if there was something I wanted to watch that the network wasn't hosting online for free.
