The sad part is the hardest game you will have to run is still going to be Crysis! It almost makes having one of these new cards worthless at the moment. What good PC games are out or are coming out? I've been just playing the s**t of out PS3 because there's not one single PC game that interests me.

Because I love PC's, I love gaming, I love new technology, I'm facinated by the endless march forward in computing power and constant advances, I look back in wonder and awe at the journey the technology industry has made in the time that I've been lucky enough to carve out my small part in it. I mean my desktop PC has 2000x the RAM of the first one that I gamed on... that is an incredible leap in capibility and it just keeps getting better.

Who cares if you really *NEED* it or not? I want it because its something that interests me...

When I bought my truck did I buy the smallest motor because it was adequate to get me to the highest speed limit of any road it would likely ever be driven on? No! I opted for the biggest motor because I like excessive, I like over-powered! If you're happy with "good enough" thats your deal... but for as long as I can I intend to set my sights on the biggest baddest hardware I can possibly afford... Not because I need it but because I want it, thats part of being free and I intend to exercise that freedom.

I take it you're not the conservative type LOL. That's fine and all, but for more people it's a different story, but I'm sure you know that.

It's a sad fact, that when you decide to purchase the latest component/Electrical whatever,
the next month, the latest product is released without warning. It's a battle that'll never be
won EVER! I used to be the victim of this, until I realised I can't afford it. There's no
point in chasing the hardware. And there's never enough money! You aint even bought the
58xx yet! Lol

As I said before if I had a single PCB I dont think I would be getting a new card. I dont so that one MAIN reason that I am getting a new card. The 5870 is not better then the 295 but its less hassle....and the exchange rate is a big big plus. Also I do think this time around unlike last time that DX11 will see a big improvment in games.

I have to say this argument alot of peeps throwing up here that the tech. is coming to fast and you will never have the best gear is bolloc.ks!!!!

You dont have to buy it simple....and if you do make sure YOU have a valid reason not just for a bigger e dic.k. Hell if I did not sell my 8800GTX I would still have it, if there was not issues with the dual PCB GTX295 I would keep it. All you can do is make informed and educated choices.......

I think with win7 being a very good O/S and the 5870 very good tech. wise with lower heat etc....and complete with DX11 its a very good choice at the moment and TBH its not that dear compared to cards before it. It will also get a tad quicker with mature drivers....I still think it suffers with high AA and AF but thats why I have my eye on the 5870 x 2.

COMPUTERS ARE NOT JUST MY LIFE...THEY ARE MUCH MORE IMPORTANT THEN THAT.
GO SELL CRAZY SOMEWHERE ELSE....WE'RE ALL STOCKED UP HERE!!!!!!
