Hi guys,

I am trying to use the Windows 98 boot files to boot to a command line from my USB key. I have used 'HP's usb boot utility but for the life of me I can not get it to work. It just boots to a black screen with a flashing cursor. I have the Windows 98 files which I copy over to my key with the HP utility ( then I copy the rest of the files ). I then edit config.sys and AUTOEXEC files but I think I am editing them wrong.

Here is config.sys:

;DVD/CD-ROM/R/RW Boot Diskette
;created 12-01-98

;[common]
lastdrive=G
device=G:\HIMEM.SYS /testmem:off
device=G:\emm386.exe noems
;device=G:\ramdrive.sys 1024 /e
dos=high,umb
files=60
buffers=30
stacks=9,256

[Menu]
menucolor=15,1
menuitem=SCSI,For systems with an Adaptec UW (SCSI) CD or DVD
menuitem=LVD,For systems with an Adaptec U2 (LVD) CD or DVD
menuitem=IDE,For systems with an IDE/Atapi CD or DVD (Default)
menudefault=IDE,0
;set menu default to IDE and by pass menu change "0" to = number of seconds

[SCSI]
devicehigh=cdrom\aspi8dos.sys /
devicehigh=cdrom\aspi8cd.sys /Micron
;set cdrom=Micron

[LVD]
device=cdrom\ASPI8U2.SYS /Micron
DEVICE=cdrom\ASPICD.SYS /Micron
;set cdrom=Micron

[IDE]
devicehigh=cdrom\oakcdrom.sys /Micron
;set cdrom=Micron

;[common]
SET ENDFLAG=1
;Flag to denote the end of the config.sys file.

and here is AUTOEXEC:

@echo off
mscdex /Micron /m:10 /l:R
set cddrive=
call mouse.bat

Can someone please help me to get this to work....

Do I change the drive letters above to G because my flash drive is G or do I leave them blank? What else do I add/take away?
