I installed 2x64mb and 1x128mb of rams in 3 of memory slots. and it only shows 128 mb of ram.
the speed of the rams are pc100/16 for the 128 mb and pc100 for the 64 mb ram. And I tried and put the only 128mb ram and my computer didn't start. So is there a difference between these two rams(the pc100/16 and pc100) and how can I fix this problem so it can have 256mb ram in total?

Sounds like that stick of 128 is toast if the PC won't start without it. Try taking it out and putting it back in.

it only starts with two 64 mb rams, but it doesn't start when I only put the 128 mb ram.

I tried and took it out and put it back in, but it only reads 128 ram altogether.

I think that stick of ram is no good if it won't even boot. The only other thing I can think to try before you replace it is to try it in each stick.

Do you know what motherboard you have? make/model would help.

I found out that my computer only uses high density memory, so what is an upgrade for compaq p/n 323012-001? because i want to upgrade my ram and don't know which memory is right one to buy. It's good if it's 256mb and pc100. So if anyoneknows can you respond to my question?
