I have an older monitor that willnot turn on. the standby (yellow light) comes on when the power source is hooked up to it but it will not turn on. i took it apart and there were 3 boards. the medium sized board has what appears to be a noticable burn on it around what looks like a microchip with a metal L shaped (possibly a heatsink) on top of it. directly above it there is a round object that looks like a magnet with copper wire wrapped around it and then yellow tape around the wire. The burn is around this. any advice on how to fix this?

#1Get a part # off the board and google for a replacement board.
#2 Get a used/broken monitor from ebay.
