Well, I'm baffled why they would want to step in this direction, but they just lost several buyers....including me. I would wait a few more months for dedicated server support...but it doesn't look that way. This game is GOING to use the IW.net system. It won't change. If it does, it will be the first game I heard of that does so.

The game was definitely overhyped anyway. I also was hoping that they would improve the netcode over cod4/waw, as they are generally terrible anyway (not to the average user though). That isn't happening. If there is some kind of miracle that happens where the mp is as good as the predecessors, then I'll likely pick it up...

I'm just shocked...this was THE GAME I was waiting for all year, and it got all ****ED UP!

hahahahahahaha! I don't give a s**t, I'll play the SP though. Bad Company 2 is going to rock MW2 anyhow from what I've seen.

The lack of dedicated servers is a major disappointment. I don't see why they need to remove dedicated servers just to gain more control. Valve has been very good with Steam and allows dedicated servers which is part of what makes games like Counter Strike: Source and Team Fortress 2 so popular. The custom maps, clan servers, and unique social environment of each server is what makes these games interesting for years without getting stale. I am hoping that Infinity Ward will listen to the community and allow dedicated servers.

I completely agree with Adam! I mean at TF2! It's all based on dedicated servers and they're still protected by VAC and whatnot. I don't get why they're using this decision, really... who in the hell cares if there are some hackers here and there? Usually good dedicated servers are hacker free almost 99% of the time so what's with this silly decision? I hope the gameplay doesn't suffer because of this, well at least not in the la department since It will definitely suffer since probably they won't allow mods.

Question though? Isn't this just an added cost to IW? If they're providing the servers, who pays for them? I mean, dedicated servers are paid by a group of people, usually clan high ranking clan members and such. I hope those SOBS don't dare to advertise just to cover expenses.

wtf!? who is the average gamer? the 8 year old who doesn't have the motor skills to play a fats paced fps? They think an average game is as useless and average as a console gamer.
I mean come on! When I first played CSS when it came out I got killed like a worthless bug, I was a meatshield with a magnet for bullets and so what! I enjoyed playing the game for 2 years straight and learned so much just in the first weeks of massive ownage. Seriously, the people who make decisions like this shouldn't be working.

I swear to god what is up with the PC format....on one hand we get fanfare and propaganda saying how DX11 will do this and that for games, then in the next penstroke games are getting f**kED over.

Developers WANT it all their own way....they make for the consoles because that is wear the money is, well the vast majority and then port absolute s**t onto the PC to rob us "PURE GAMERS" blind...I am sick to death of it. I never felt like this before but I swear it is no wonder PIRACY is so strong in the PC platform. I am SOOOOO gonna DL OPF2 just because I can....I am gonna f**k them in the as.s the way we are getting f**kED!

I am still RAGING over EMPIRE:TOTAL WAR, the game is only playable now and out for months, OPF2 is such a bad bad port...and now we getting f**ked with COD. Seriously WTF!

Also, I remember reading your review about Total War but seriously what was so bad before? I can't remember? I know you've said that the current patch has fixed the game but what made the game so bad when it didn't had the patch?

Empire was a total nightmare when released. 99% of the people who bought the game on release could not play it. It was crashing to desktop left right and centre. Trade routes would not work....the AI is still FOOKED to this day and the memory leaks were so bad the game forgot what lands you owned.

Sound was glitchy and the turns were taking 30-60secs to register....NIGHTMARE.

I'm pretty sure it won't. Well I can only hope so If I knew who the developer was. Only a few developers know how to make a good well done Pc game.
