I have the 64-bit and 32-bit versions of Windows 7 (both Business). When I boot up the 64-bit, all I see before the login screen is the basic little progress bar and copyright notice like I have seen since the beta of Vista. But when I boot up my 32-bit, I see these little balls of colored light dancing around each other until they collide and form the windows logo. So much cooler. Why is there a difference between the two versions? What do you (those of you who already have the RTM) see when you boot up?

You should see the "cooler" one you described that make the Windows logo. This is Windows 7's boot screen. For some reason it sounds like your install is still using your old Vista boot up screen. Was that an upgrade install or a fresh/clean install? Regardless, it shouldn't be showing the older Vista boot screen.

One time, for some reason, I got a boot screen asking if I wanted to start windows normally or do some recovery thing bc I guess some program I installed f**ked something up. So I chose the recovery option and it booted with the old Vista progress bar.

Kinda weird, nothing was different after I booted. It boots with the windows color thingys every other time.

This is a 100% fresh install. I have had Vista Business, Win7 Beta, Win7 RC1 and Win7 RTM on this computer and every single one has had the lame boot screen. Could it be my graphics card or its configuration?

Hehe, yeah I figured, but couldn't resist. Dunno though, my 64-bit RTM gives me the colorful animated Windows logo at bootup.
