Obama passed a new policy that lets medical marijuana patients & dispensories smoke/sell reguardless of the federal law. f**k yea!

The vote for medical marijuana here in Arizona comes up next year (even though its already legal... kinda).

what does it means by dispensories?

Also, I guess you're happy because of the facilitation this would bring for marijuana users? even though most of them won't need it for medical uses?

Now there isn't a fine! (as long as u got a script) lol

Dispensories are the clubs that sell the medical marijuana, the places that get busted all the time by the DEA just because its federally against the law.

Everyone who smokes it, smokes it for medical purposes. ;) (Plus its really easy to get a prescription).

I don't understand why we won't just have the debate in this country.

There are a lot of people that wan't pot legalized and quite a few that are against it. So instead of ignoring federal law... which is a road we shouldn't be going down... i mean what are we going to do? Stop paying attention to the laws we don't like? I sure hope not... all that is going to do is lead to chaos. The law is the law, even if you don't agree with it, and no one; not the President, not Congress, not anyone is above it.

The good thing is that the constitution allows us to change the laws; which is the proper way to go about this. So legislation should be brought to the floor and debated and voted on that would legalize the recreational/medical use of marijuana... Let the pros and cons be discussed openly and the the chips fall where they may.

No I think we should debate legalization for all of them... One at a time anyway. Weed would be a good place to start.

If it were up to me I would legalize all of them (federally) and allow the individual states to regulate them as they peased.

The federal govenment is too big... it was never meant to have the level of control that it does. The founders intended the states to function almost like independent nations with the Federal govenrment handling things like foreign policy, the military, keeping interstate commerce fair, and not much more.

If the people in Maine want to shoot heroin and are completely fine with maniacs running around on the street blitzed out of their minds on PCP then who are the people in Hawaii to say they can't? The simple answer is that they're not... It's upto the people in each state to create the rules and regulations governing their own territory. I guess I don't really see it as a drug use issue so much as a state soverinty issue.

Well it makes sense, but I dont think that would fly anyime soon. Those drugs can link to problems in the US, whether it be crime, suicide, crowding hospitals, etc. Marijuana doesn't but most people in the US thinks it does.

I agree I'd probably vote AGAINST legalization of the "hard drugs" here in my state but I'd vote FOR legalization at the federal level.

You guys know I was sarcastic right? I don't support the legalization of any drug.

Canibus isn't like the "hard" drugs because it isn't a stimulant, it's a depressant. It is like alcohol but worse. We all know drunk drivers are dangerous, but can you imagine a stoned driver with like a 1.5 second reaction time? I deal with stoned customers at work sometimes and I can tell you with a good degree of certainty that they are in no condition to function in society while in that state. They are completely unaware of their surroundings and incredibly forgetful, sometimes even violent. Just the other day this obviously stoned customer slapped one of our female employees after a small argument about prices. The point is that people on marijuana as bad as or worse a nuisance than drunk people. Not to mention that weed is much easier to overdo than alcohol and it has much more damaging neurological long-term affects.

I think your case is an exception. I know a number of people who smoke marijuana semi-regularly and I have never ever seen a violent act out of any of them while under the drug's effects. At my store, I find that it's the drunk people and not the stoned people who are a FAR FAR greater nuisance. In the last decade, my dad has been assaulted by eleven drunk people, of which one nearly put him in the hospital, yet not one stoned person has attacked him or his livelihood, and he's seen about an average of over a hundred stoned people a year, which is roughly the same with the number of drunk people he's seen a year.

You are deluding yourself if you think that the same crowd that is using marijuana now isn't driving on it as well... Its illegal to drive while intoxicated already... on any substance, even ones that are legal to possess.

How do you think this situation would work out? There's no "illegal drugs" being used:

Officer: "do you know why I pulled you over?"
Driver: "i was swerving all over the road.."
Officer: "and why were you swerving all over the road?"
Driver: "Sorry Officer I was just huffing glue... makes me kinda dizzy and i start seeing double... I couln't really tell which lane I was in... ha ha ha"
Officer: "oh well, at least you weren't drinking or smoking weed! here's your licence back you have a nice day!"

yeah... same thing if pot were legal... drive around stoned... get pulled over... goto jail.

weed is much easier to overdo than alcohol and it has much more damaging neurological long-term affects.

So It should be upto the individual to decide if they wan't to put that substance into their body... If it were legal that is.

Dude... Alcohol impares your judgement and motor skills SO MUCH MORE than marijuana.

Also, ALCOHOL has more "damaging neurological long-term effects", NOT marijuana! (HAVE YOU EVEN SMOKED IT??)

I don't know where you got your information, but almost half a million people are killed due to alcohol and many more are hostpitalized because of alcohols effects on the body (my father is in ICU right now detoxing from alcohol). Marijuana has little to no negative physical effects (its not even linked to cancer). How many people are killed each year by marijuana? ZERO (as in, 0).

Another thing. I'm not sure waht you mean by OVERDO when you say it concerning marijuana. You can't overdose on it, and once you reach a certain point it wont even make you any higher. ALCOHOL is overDONE all the time. People are always getting "too drunk".

Man your reasons are just so wrong. Your like the typical reason why its illegal.

I've never met an angry stoner in my life, btw. Alcoholics on the other hand. All of them are angry f**ks.
