Hi i bought my power supply about 4 months ago it is a 750w. with only 2x2 12v, i then bought a new motherboard and just connected the 2x2 in the one slot of the 2x4, and found that my motherboard is not working. is there something that im missing or should i rather get a new supply with a 2x4 chip? the board is not getting power.

What make and model is the power supply in question? Also what motherboard are you trying to connect it to?

yeah I saw that... its kinda hard to have any idea what is going on when you have no idea what the parts are.

Please consider consolidating your 2 posts into a single post. You've already asked if the power supply could be faulty in your other post,
http://www.hardwareanalysis.com/content/topic/75124/
and people have asked for hardware details there as well.

You only need the one post.

Either that, or just use this post to refer people to your other thread. That way, everyone is working with the same information, without redundancy, and not at cross-purposes, possibly providing contradictory information and advice.
