Hello, everyone. I was just wondering if anyone in here has had any success installing drivers for an Ati Radeon x1650 on Windows 7. Microsoft's upgrade adviser flagged my card as unable to run the Aero experience. Also, Ati's site essentially stated that they have no plans to release drivers to support WDDM 1.1 for this card and a few others.

Card is Ati Radeon x1650xt PCIe 256 mb

Thanks in advance for the help.

Chad

I dont think you should have any problems. I ran dual X1900GT's in CF on Windows 7's Ultimate 64 bit.Im not sure if the 1900GT's had support for WDDM 1.1 and I dont remember if i could run aero with them or not.I just installed W7 to run a few benchmarks for the Summer of 2009 Forum War's.

Mothow, thanks for the reply.

The x1900 series is part of the "unsupported" list:

I was hoping that I could simply install the driver in Vista compatibility mode and it would work. Thank you very much for your input regarding your experience. It really helps.

You're info was actually really helpful since you were able to successfully install the drivers on a card that is in the unsupported list like mine. Thanks again!:)
