hi! i have a sony-vaio laptop (VGN-CS21S/P).. it is 2 months old.. lately, it automatically shuts down whenever i use it. i tried to re-install the battery packs and plugged the AC adapter. the result is the same. i even tried to remove the battery and use AC power. but it is still the same. sometimes, it works fine. sometimes, it won't. it just shuts down itself without notification. just like when power is cut off. what could be the cause? how can i solve it? my mom bought it in greece and i am here in the philippines so bringing it back would be costly. please help me.

#1. Make sure the drivers are all up to date.
#2 Even if you have the laptop on a flat surface, have a fan blow along the side/under it and see if this fixes the problem. My friends 1 yo laptop overheats and just shuts down unless he has it on his laptop pad with a built in fan, some are just like that.

It shuts down when ever you use it.
If it just sits idle does it work fine?
Is it only when the wifi card is on and your online that it it quits?
Did you change anything or dl/install anything recently?

thanks for the reply. it shuts down when i turn it on. it shuts down just before windows loaded or a few minutes after (5-30mins?). even if it is idle, it shuts off. now i have a new observation. i used it last night with a cooling pad under and a fan beside it. it never shutdown by itself. i used it this morning and im glad it didnt shut down. i hope using the fans would not be permanent.
