Nothing. Not even the recycle bin. I've tried going into the control panel and checking the boxes I want to see, but nothing happens. I can see all of the icons in the desktop folder, but none of them are ON the DESKTOP. Wtf?
IDK if this is related, but I can't seem to drag either. When I try to I dont see any drag outline.
Check your screen resolution. When i first installed win 7 it worked fine , then after a couple of reboots all my icons were gone. I did have a second monitor connected and that was partly to blame, but just right click anywhere and make sure your resolution didnt jump to a higher rez.

Yeah I thought it could be that too, but I tried all the available resolutions and still can't see the icons. The higest res is displays is 1024 x 768. I'm thinking it used to be connected to another that had a higher res.
The monitor is a Samsung SyncMaster 150MP which has 2 video inputs, as well as a TV and PC connections. Could it be part of the reason?
