I've been rocking the s**t out of this game since it came out tuesday.

My Main Cars:
VW Beetle- Turbo Charged and every single upgrade options, It's probably my best car for track it goes 0-60 in 2.6 seconds, converted to AWD. I f**king raped the K&N 700HP challenge with it and it only has like 580 or so and got a 10.961 1/4 Mile. Painted Pink with Lime Green hood and lime green windows as well as "MURDER!" written on both sides in bright blue.

2002 Trans Am- Twin Turbo LS9, still needs some upgrades but it goes like 230mph, 0-60 in like 3.6 seconds so nothing too impressive but 5th gear is like retardedly fast since it goes like 150-218mph. Have it all blacked out with the bigass cowl induction hood which you cant see past in the driver view.

2002 Corvette Z06- Put the C5.R engine in it which only has one upgrade (restrictors) but has like 785hp with it off, basicly just a race car and in the R3 class. Could get better acceleration since its like 0-60 in 3.3 and top speed of 220mph, i'll tweak the trans later.

and right now I'm working on a Saab 9-3 Aero for racing on drift-like courses.

>> Re: Forza 3
I don't anything to crazy at the moment except for a 1987 Buick GNX with a LS9 swap putting out about 700 HP. 0 to 60 in 2.9 seconds. 0 to 100 in under 7 seconds. I originally built it as a drag racing beast, but haven't managed much better then an 11.9 as I haven't quite mastered the launch due to the game's rather lame auto-reving feature and lack of time to get ready for the launch. Oh...yeah and did I mention 190+ MPH powerslides? How about 4th gear burnouts? The thing has so much power that if you don't feather the throttle on launch the car will just go sideways into the nearest wall.

Other then that I have a bunch of lightly tuned (intake, exhaust, few other random upgrades) cars that I use for random races including: 2004 GTO, 2010 Camaro SS, Mustang GT500, G8 GXP, BMW M5, Lotus Exige S240, and a few others the game rewards for leveling up.

I don't have a 360, but I'll prob end up seeing it/playing it at one of my friends.
How many cars does this game have? I been on YouTube to see and proper game vids,
but they are far and few between - mainly E3 and demo styles.

From what I've so far tho, it's not much different to Shift - except of course for more
cars, and more tracks/different scenery locations. It doesn't look "simy" just looks
like Shift. It does look like a good game tho. If it were available on PC I'd defo try it
out. Ever since NFS:MW I've been right into car games. They're on Par with my FPS's!

Also Sean, I'm sure you said in my Shift thread you have Shift. What's your
thoughts now and comparisons with these two games?

Yeah, I was trying to win the speedway tracks at the S level with the LS9 GNX and it would just slam the walls after a few laps if you don't slow down considerably coming out of the corners...I'm thinking possibly I could fix that with some suspension adjustments but I don't know what I'm doing.

Tam, the game has about 400 cars. There is 5 extra in a limited collectors edition such as the ZR1, but you can buy a Z06 and drop a LS9 in it and you have basically a ZR1. It also comes with a code for downloading 10 more cars from the marketplace. I'm sure they will eventually launch more cars for the game (probably a couple for free, but mostly for MS points).

Personally though I found the game's wide selection of classic and modern cars to be quite impressive. All the cars you'd want in a racing game are there, with one notable exception and that is the Nissan GTR R35 (though they have older generations of the JDM version). Also I'm kinda disappointed by the lack of an Audi RS6 Wagon, AMG E63 Wagon and other high performance wagons. Because what is better then a Luxury family station wagon that runs the quarter mile better then an Audi R8:

Forza 3 beats Shift by leaps and bounds IMO. A lot more sim like than Shift, the only thing that could be better is the Driver view.

I did that S class speedway challenge with my T/A on manual, that helps a lot. I would be on 5th and 6th gear for most of it. If i was going into a turn I would go into 6th so it would sort of slow down and then drop down to 5th and blast out of the turn into the straight away up to 211mph and then shift back up to 6th.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but is there every generation of the Camaro and Firebird in that game?

Too bad they didn't do the same for the stangs- muscle car wars from every era would have been neat.

I wouldn't go as far to say that Shift and Forza are in the same league.
Forza's defo a sport racing orientated game. NFS Series... f**k knows what
genre that is lol.

haha, exactly.

I couldn't find enough will to beat Shift, honestly. I did play a bit into Tier 4, but it got old. It seemed like the slower cars were more fun and realistic to drive.

We have to play online. I think Shift R0CKS! And I get loadsa abuse from Russians, etc
for beating them. Man, they are such bad losers!!

I use the Nissan Skyline, tweaked to 14, and race on 14 level. It kicks f**kin ass!

I do prefer the muscle cars to race cars. More fun. I do know what you mean!

Yes, all five generations of Camaros are in the game (the 2nd gen was added in with the 10 free cars in the DLC). And I believe the Firebird has the 1st, 3rd, and 4th in the game (there never was a 5th gen Firebird due to the death of Pontiac). In general, I feel that the selection of American cars in the game is quite impressive, if your a fan of American cars it is definitely the racing game to get.

As for NSF: Shift, the last time I played it was the day before the Forza 3 demo came out. I got to the 4th Tier, had a decent amount of money built up but just got bored of the game and decided not to waste my time after realizing how good Forza 3 was going to be. The amount of performance upgrades in Forza 3 is very impressive, including realistic engine swaps (large GM cars can have LS3s, LS7s, LS9s, swapped in for the stock engine).

Anyone know how to properly launch an 810 HP RWD GNX? I am running the same quarter mile with a 500HP AWD Subaru as I am with that car due to the launch in the Subuaru being much easier thanks to the lack of tire spin.

Yeah I started doing manual w/ clutch which helped improve my best time on my 590 HP STI to 10.6 from 11.0 using manual. The high power RWD cars though are pretty tough to launch. I either spin the tires for the first 100 feet or don't take off with enough power. I even tried w/ traction control on for the hell of it and that just yields the same times as I do when feathering it without TC. I did finish all the Drag Racing events today though. Used the STI for all the AWD races (with different mods equipped).

It helps so much, just go straight to manual w/ clutch. It is really easy to do the shifting while doing drag racing since it is pretty much all you need to worry about after launching. Just hold down LB (the clutch) and tap B at the same time to upshift.
