Just got kicked off "Dancrosoft UT3 server" for being on the winning team. We won one round of Warfare on Serenity and the admin was like "hax?" and I was like "negative" and we won the second round/game and I got kicked, CD key banned.

It's not like the other team couldn't hit me or anything. I just drove the tank over to their core, camped until our team (who was superior) got all the nodes and then knocked hell out of the core. 11 shots and it's done for, plus a teammate was running interference with a Manta. If anyone thinks that's "hax" they're completely retarded and have no business running a server.

It's bulls**t like this that absolutely ruins a good game. I really like objective-oriented team games, ie CTF, Warfare, etc, and I like UT3's mix of weapons, vehicles, and maps. It's a good game THAT NO ONE PLAYS. Every server is usually, at best, a 50/50 mix of bots to humans, and the bots are HORRIBLY stupid. So when you find a decent mix it's great, and then idiots like this ruin it.

I used to run into this on Halo PC too. I spent waaaay too much time playing that and on my favorite servers, and the ping was pretty consistent so I was a good shot. Luckily I was friendly with admin in that case but people called me a hacker all the time. It's frustrating.

Anyway, just wanted to vent to say, if you do run a server, accept that someone out there is going to be better than you, or at the least that you're going to lose sometimes. Otherwise put a password on it so you can stick to pwning your noob friends and brag about how badass you are.

That's why I don't play Halo (besides the horrid netcode). If you played tourney or duel in UT3, it would be another story.

Usually, you'll start to get banned as the competition dies down. I got banned from every FEAR pub server after the comp died there (just got another key).

There's always admins like that.

There's plenty that act like that towards me when I play ONS (which is like UT3's Warfare) on UT2004.

Good to hear people play ut and quake here. I could never really understand why people opt for games like CoD, more than quake/ut. There definitely is more player skill involved in those games, and they have a much higher learning curve. But for team strategy, they are superior.

UT3 basically flopped, right out of the box. I was one of those people who bought it right when it came out for $49.99 (or w/e it was). I never played warfare mode, besides in the SP. MP failed due to map size, and other game issues (upon release). I'm definitely one of those people who would say that UT2K4 was a more solid and competitive game (though I'm starting to get sick of Rankin).

Even though I'm just dreaming, I hope that Doom 4 has some good MP this time around.

I always put it down to people who've never played the SP versions on anything higher than Easy mode who can't figure out why the game is so hard all of a sudden.

With UT2K4, I started hanging out in various GameSpy chatrooms getting in with Clan members there so I could play on their private servers where you're generally gonna find more mature individuals open to the concept of the occasional better player, or someone blessed with a certain amount of luck.

I used to get quite wound up about it, but then I just took on the mantra: "Many servers, few lamers".

Good to know I'm not alone, fellas. I kind of felt like a whiner myself complaining about it, but s**t man, competition is what MP is all about, and competition means someone will win and someone will lose.

Also, one question. Is UT3 online like the previous games where your ping determine how long it takes for your gun to fire or like other games like COD4 or CSS where the ping determines how you're hit? Do you guys understand me?
