Hey all.... just wondering if there is a freeware for undeleting accidental deleted files that will work on SD (secure digital) media ????

I accidentally deleted files from a SD card that I use in my Canon SX20 IS camera. As a side note.... I used the camera's delete function to delete all the files (not format).

so.... anything out there that would work on a SD card????

Recuva does a decent enough job for the price:

These are the guys who brought us CCleaner, one of the most popular free apps out there.

I haven't tried Recuva but have tried both CCleaner and defraggler from Piriform and they get 10/10 from me.

Let us know if you try.

Wow that Recuva's pretty damn excellent. Just tested it out. That Piriform are an
excellent team might i add! As for Ccleaner, the best tool out there. Speaking of tools,
where' Michael C just now.....

Haha, bitch. I've tried every defragmentor program and I say that PerfectDisk is the overall best. I used to use Diskeeper, and O&O which were both great, but PerfectDisk beats them both out for me. After running a defragment with PerfectDisk, I can feel the difference.

McFly and Ecosse....

you guys rock.... thanks for that suggestion... sorry i didnt get back sooner but after I posted, I had to go and cook some dinner for me and my girls....

BUT.... I downloaded Recuva and tried it out..... wooottt.... it got it all back.... I know that once you delete it.... as long as you dont write anything to it that you will have a better chance of getting it back...

I installed the program... and pointed it to the SD card. It got it all back... pictures and movie clips (*.mov) taken from the camera. They were Holloween pictures and clips of my little girls.

By the way.... once you guys said it was the same folks that created CCleaner..... I was very hopeful as I use CCleaner myself.

As for defrag utilities.... I use JK Defrag and have been pleased with it.

Thanks again guys !!!

One thing thing tho. I'm not sure how to run these programs. Yes I know they are
straight forward - this one in particular BUT here's an example:

Test 1:

Clean system with Ccleaner (to make sure every thing's wiped)
Obtain a "test" File (in this case - a music file labelled "test" for test purposes)
DELETE IT from Recycle Bin - not Ccleaner...

Run Recuva

Select Music, and Next
Select In Recycle Bin, and Next
Start (Not Deep Scan)
I actually get 4 files all labelled like "$IIBIOQ.mp3"
So I recover them back to D Drive, and none of them work?!

What am I doing wrong here?
