Just reading this earlier this morning. The results are impressive, apart from gaming.

http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/laptops/2009/11/13/intel-core...chmarked/1

At the moment there are 3 core i7 mobiles:

720QM
820QM
and 920XM Extreme Edition

I hope we start getting some i7 laptops in at work, so I can bench them :D

Wow, with 2 memory slots at up to 4gb each, there is $500+ to max that puppy out. If they even make/sell a 4gb stick of ddr3 for a laptop.

I know, most people wont even use 2x2.I am just saying.

They do, but the prices aren't pretty. I'd like to get 8GB (of DDR2) of memory for the EliteBook I'm going to buy, but it costs about four times the price of the 4GB kit. :|

I'd read before that the mobile i7's run pretty damned hot ...

Freaking DDR2 prices are steadily climbing ............. currently I have 4GB (2 x 2GB) Corsair Dominators 1066 5-5-5-15 (EPP series).... I bought them last year in Nov for 67.00USD and I got 25.00 bucks in a Visa Debit card to boot.... I would like to get another pair of these same exact memory BUT....... the freaking bastards are priced 164.99 as of today....and these are from Newegg !!!! FREAKING AAAAAAAA.....
