i have a hp dv2000(dv2225nr) that only shows the led lights(power, media strip, keypad) . no fan no video no beep no hard drive spin.. tryed to hard reset. memory etc.

any suggestions. i have read alot of info.... about reflowing the video and also about the graphics problems with the the 9600 and 2000 series.

i was going to chang m.b. from eBay $120 any advice

The typical issues in these series regarding the graphics was weird lines and colors appearing on the LCD panel - completely random and usually right after the warranty expired (1 yr). In this case, you may have a bad motherboard.

thx for the info...a little scared on changing the mb on laptop. hp offered a recall on these after being embarrased by the negative publicity this model wasn't included. but it's a little to old for that anyway (dv2225nr). this will be my first motherboard change on a laptop.

. i have it half stripped down going slow. the plugs are unusual on some of the stuff especially the media bar. with the ribbon type cable. it was miracle i figured how to unlatch it. it's a whole new world compared to desktops.


you guys have any tips besides don't ##@#@ it up.

Search...and search harder for assembly/re-assembly manuals, they are out there! You can also try searching for some videos on it.
