Fellow Forum Members,
I currently have four Hanns G 28" LCD monitors. Each one has a resolution of 1920 x 1200. The problem is that my office gets as HOT as HELL with all four of these monitors running at the same time.

Therefore, my plan is to get rid of them and buy myself four 28 inch LED monitors instead. My thinking is that LED monitors will dissapate a lot less heat when compared to the LCD monitors I currently have.

I have spent several hours Googling for 28 inch LED Monitors and I can not find a single monitor manufacturer that sells a 28 Inch LED Monitor with a 1920 x 1200 resolution. Does anyone out there know of a monitor manufacturer that sells a 28 inch LED monitor? If yes, please let me know. Any info will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

P.S. I am not a gamer or a graphic artist. I need all of the extra space four monitors provide for day trading.

"LED Monitor" is a misnomer. It's still an LCD display, it just uses an LED backlighting system, as opposed to the traditional CCFL backlight.

That said, an LED backlight does use less power than a CCFL backlight, so it may well run cooler.

I don't see any. Best I could find was this:

Michael,
Thanks for the link. That is one beautiful BenQ monitor. It's a shame it is not 28 inches.

I think the only option I have is to look at buying a backlit LED HDTV. I will be paying extra for a HDTV tuner I do not need, but at least I will have a display that does generate a lot of excessive heat. However, the problem with this option is that the resolution on your average HDTV is 1920 x 1080.

Isn't a 1920 x 1080 HDTV resolution inferior to the 1920 x 1200 resolution one finds on computer LCD monitors?

My question to anyone out there now is: What is the best HDTV dislplay on sale in the market right now that can be used as a computer monitor?

Also does a computer graphics display card exist in the market that will double the 1920 x 1080 HDTV resolution to 3840 x 2160 ? This way a single 42 Inch LED Backlit HDTV display can replace two of my LCD monitors running at 1920 x 1200. In other words the screen size foot print of a single 42 inch HDTV is close to two 28 inch LCD monitors put together side by side in a portrait orientation. However, the resolution does not equate unless the 42 Inch Backlit HDTV resolution can be increased to 3840 x 2160 with a high end computer graphics card. Does any high end display technology like this exist in the market? Any info will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Hum, only difference between 1920x1200 and 1920x1080 is just the very slightly reduced number of pixels to fit a 16:9 ratio as opposed to 16:10. You'll get less screen space, but I don't think you'll really notice it.

As for doubling the resolution of a TV, you can't make a screen go above its native resolution, so if its a 1080p screen 1920x1080 is as high as it can go. If you have 4 screens you can trick the PC into thinking its one big one though.

Hey there... did u have any luck finding the LED at 1920x1200? I found one in asia in that resolution at 24" !!! Their 27" is a whopping 2560x1440... basically the same thing as the Apple displays, but got PC's... looked awesome... USA is so slow to get these cool electronics, like TV's and phones as well.

27" LED-LCD's can be found more often now. Asus makes a few good ones:

Well if you are gamer you are better off with 16:9, any specific reason why want to go with 16:10?

eh, best LED back-lit at that size I've seen personally are:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824001431
or
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824236103

Friend of mine owns both and both look fantastic, I don't think you'll miss the pixels to much.

I personally enjoy my HannsG HZ281

But honestly seems to me you should invest in a fan, not a whole new set of monitors. ;)

- All of the above mentioned monitors ( linked ones ) have not a resolution of 1920x1200...

- they all got 1920x1080 and to answer the question why would you need it:

you do feel the difference between the resolutions if you are working as an architect and grafic's programs. because there are function bars on top and in the bottom. in fact, you only want that resolution if you do nothing more than watching modern 16:9 Movies, even slightly older movies would not be displayed across the whole display because they would be cut off top and bottom side!
