My mobo is gigabite ep45-ud3r.
Cpu is a q6600 go2.4 @3.0 with a 5:6 and no voltage increase
Ram is 2x2gb ddr2 1066

Here are the cpu-z stats:

If i buy a couple of sticks of memory that are ddr2 800, will i have trouble keeping any sort of an oc running the 800 and 1066 memory at the same time?

micro,

according to your specs and cpuz....... you are running at DDR2 800 speed even though your original 2 sticks of memory is rated for 1066. Your mb is currently running the memory at DDR2 800. In order for your memory to be running at 1066, CPUz needs to show 533 speed.

on my ga-ep45-ud3r, I am running a set of corsair dominator twinx 1066 and both bios and cpuz shows it to be running at 533 mem bus, 1066 speed, with 5-5-5-15.

So if you get a new set of DDR2 800 sticks..... your OC should stay the same as you are already running at DDR2 800 speeds. Remember, if you want to run 1066 speeds, you need to have all sticks to be at 1066 rated. But in your situation, your original 1066 sticks are running at DDR2 800..

@G.G
Thanks for the info. I thought it was only running at 800 since the fsb was 400 rather then 533, but i wanted to make sure as OC is not my strong point.

I went ahead and ordered some used ocz plat to use with my current set. I got 2x1gig for $35/s&h.This will bring me to 6 gigs using 4 sticks. I needed more ram for photoshop and video editing etc, but i just couldn't see putting $100 into ddr2 memory for 4 more gigs.

Micro,

on my system with a Q9550 at 1333 FSB and memory running at 533 (DDR2 1066) the ratio is at 5:8

Since you are currently running at 400 (DDR2 800), installing the new pair of DDR2 800 will still run at that speed. You shouldnt have any issue with your cpu OC.

Post back on your results once you install that new pair of memory.

I installed the ram today, for a total of 6gb. It was just plug and play, the cpu oc stayed.

I went from using 1,080 mb at idle to using 1,400mb at idle in win7 64.
Now i am using 23%, i think i was using closet o 35% before.

I used a ram benchmark called "PerformanceTest 7.0" and my scors read/write were slightly better with the 6gb. I was surprised.

What is a good ram performance test to use, or is everest about the best one out there?

EDIT:
I have gotten 2 bsod since i installed this ram. I will work on this and see if i can get the problem resolved.

EDIT 2:
If i reset my timings manually, i would still get a bsod. I left it set to auto and now it works perfectly.
