Hey guys just got a Q9550 and would just like advise on what kind of Overclock I can achieve with my setup. I use a Gemini ll S cooler not the stock intel fan. If you are familiar with what my mobo can do that would be nice as well.

every system is different... Just bump it up a little bit at a time (5MHz or so with the FSB)and if it gets unstable (use prime 95) then back off a bit... watch your temps, use extra voltage sparingly. good luck!

(I think 3.4GHz with a 1600FSB is a reasonable minimum expectation with that CPU)

Core i7 4770K @ 4.4GHz | Corsair H110 | Gigabyte GA-Z87X-UD5H | 32GB 1866MHz Corsair Vengeance
2x EVGA GTX 780 SLI | 256GB OCZ Vector SSD | 4TB Hitachi 7K4000
Corsair AX1200 PSU | Corsair 650D | Windows 7 Ultimate x64

Hey guys, been a while, how u been?
I dont mean to hijack this thread, but i recently got a e5300 intel processor, 2,6ghz, 2mb cache, 800 mhz fsb.. now my question is, which processor is better? The e5300 vs amd 64 x2 4200+ ? I have mothervoards for both, but i dont know which will be best performing in my htpc which i play games like teamfortress2 and CS source on.. it will be accompanied by 2 gigs xms2 800mhz ram, and a msi oc8600gt..
E5300 is 2 gens newer, so i figured itd be better, but one guy on a forum i read said u wouldnt see any difference when nogt OCed on the e5300? The amd processor is socket am2..

Which one do u guys reckon will be better performing at stock speeds? And once again sorry for hijacking this thread.. also bear with me as i wrote this on my sony ericsson x10 hehe

no offence mate but your question has nothing to do with this tread, maybe you should start your own
