The only reason this website is still standing is no doubt because of the few die hard forum members. For me, it was never about the articles in the front page, in fact I have only read a few of them. It is always the forum that drawn me in to this site to this day. It is the participation, the sharing of ideas with other technical people, the invocation of my technical thinking by helping others, and of course the joking around, which are the most enjoyable aspects here.

There were a lot more members participation few years ago, lot more discussions, not just on computers, but on many topics. Threads were made quickly and abundantly. Individual member was only one of many, and each didn't need to do much to see the forum populated with topics.

Right now, it's like if the few of us don't post something, there's not a whole lot going on in the forum. It's just matter of time, before all of us move on, and there's only random computer help seekers left in the forum. Sad... but that's the reality, if site owner's not going do anything to rejuvenate the website.

Deep down, each time hearing many of your familiar names / alias here in forum, it's like hearing from old friends. That's the reason, I keep coming back. But people move on, because of forum itself, or because of life. There's nothing permanent in this world.

Well, all of you must be doing something right as this entire site is still going and still gets a lot of daily posts in a number of subjects. Many of the other computer enthusiasts' sites that had a big drawing also over the past five years or so are really suffering for ANY participation now.

Back when the big thread on the A8N-SLI was extremely active this site was probably the best site going -- may still be as I am not looking at many now. Many of the competitive sites now show the last post in many threads are a year or so old. Some of you were regular on some of these dying sites also in the past.

I know I still scope this site regularly, but do not post that frequently anymore. Some sites never catch much interest, but this one has for many. I have about dropped going to many sites as have others because there is no point posting if no one is reading or else not interested in replying. Currently, this site and overclockers are the best computer sites going as far as I am concerned.

Every site dies eventually, but I believe this site will be around for quite awhile.

A8N-SLI Deluxe, FX-55, Win XP Pro - was main, being rebuilt after electrical storm
Sabertooth x58, i7-950, Win 7 Pro, ENGTX460CU TOP, 12GB GSkill, 12GB SSD, 1GB + 2GB HDD @ 6GB/s - main computer
P5Q-E, e8500, Vista 64 - secondary computer
Two P5Q Pro,

I'm not sure how this site is alive, but I always pop in daily to have a peak and make some posts. Whenever I have IT related questions this is the first site I hit up. I do also post on some others such as Toms Hardware and Guru3d, but generally don't get as good quality answers. If it isn't that, it's to get an argument with Tam! Entertainment! That's why the site is alive!

I do miss some of the members McFly listed though.

I agree with the feeling the forum has lost strength. I have noticed that too myself.

I am guilty too. Some years ago I visited this place daily and I wrote a lot. But then my interests changed a lot and I now visit other forums far more than this one.

But I have to say this too: it happens the same with just about anyother forum. Maybe because people do not have that much money to spend, forums (fora?) today are not what they were some time ago.

I post on this one and Tech Spot and a couple of poetry & writing sites. i used to spend 8 to 10 hours every day going to forums. When i do show nowadays I just look for posts that have not been replied to. Other than that most of you are better educated than I and I'm not really keeping up with the changes. I do pop in and read posts though. Some of you guys are certifiably whack and I do enjoy your madness. A pleasant respite from reading all this crap political stuff, and tech company profit via tort B.S. going on. Some of you guys should be writing and submitting articles about diff and new hardware.
