I wanna get me a webcam for xmas, and I want it to be quality.

Right now there is like 2 or 3 webcams that do hardware 1080p such as logitech C910 HD
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16826104385
or M$ LifeCam Studio

http://www.amazon.com/Microsoft-QF2-00001-LifeCam-Studio/dp/B0...mp;sr=1-15

I just want something with amazing color quality, speed, preferrably full 1080p. I dont care if it has a built-in mic or not

around 200$ is my budget, can anyone help me out?

What about the Logitech TV CAM? Might not be what you are looking for but its a sexy piece of kit. Also why 1080p not alot of services taking advantage of it really......but yeah the HD910 cam is TECH PORN too. ;)

So far I've been diggin' around, seems the M$ Studio is better than that Logitech one, the TV one is the same as 910 but 50 bucks more because you can use TV with it, I can careless about that.

I wonder if there are any alternatives. What about hooking up a camcoder to PC and using it as webcam?

Hehe webcams... funny how they say "1080" HD. NOT for actual webcam usage over
the tinternet! 1080p when you record a video. No wide screen for IM cam moments.
p**ses me off how they display that sh|t when someone actually wants the webcam for
IM usage.

I have the Logitech Quickcam Pro 9000. The best cam I've had to date. Had it since 2007
as well. Still sells exclusively as well. Great for "720 & 1080p" VIDEOS and quite good
webcam cam on IM just not HD LOL

....I'm back, but only as a part-timer... :)

Ordered me a M$ one because it smokes the logitech in low light situations, and i will be usin' it in very low light.

I believe the person receiving the images of sovietdocs 2x winning Arnold's Classic lustrous body will need to have a pretty decent internet to support all the data 1080p takes.

Though I'm wondering what if the messenger services limit the amount of bandwidth he can transfer or downconverts the video to a specific size. Wouldn't that defeat the whole purpose of the 1080p webcam?

well, as ppl have said, no IM program supports 1080p yet, so the standard res will still be 720p. But 1080p capability is nice for the future, plus because it has a tripod mount, ima use it as a stationary video camera for my vids.
