I am running an 8 year old asis desktop. I was running protools on it and the computer just crashed. This was not prompted by physical action on the computer itself. Now the computer wont turn on. When I looked at the motherboard there is a sold green light when it has power but the computer still wont turn on. I have tried turning on and off the power switch in the back. But still nothing? Any ideas what I can do to fix it or what the problem may be?

Sometimes, manufacturers have those LEDs to indicate motherboard damage, and it sounds like it could be one (of many) possible problems you are experiencing. My guess is either a bad motherboard or PSU. There are many posts on the site that can help you troubleshoot. I would start by testing another power supply.
